Morgan Wallen is gearing up to release his forthcoming new album, One Thing At A Time!
The country superstar first announced his third studio album on Monday (Jan. 30) via social media. “This announcement has been a long time coming. I’m releasing my album,” Wallen wrote at the time, revealing that his new album would be dropping on March 3.
Arriving on March 3, One Thing At A Time will feature 36 new songs, including duets with Eric Church, HARDY and ERNEST.
The 36-track project follows the December release of Wallen’s three-song One Thing At A Time – Sampler, which included “One Thing At A Time,” “Days That End In Why,” and “Tennessee Fan.”
Also included on the much anticipated project are several previously teased tunes such as “Ain’t That Some,” “Whiskey Friends,” “Keith Whitley,” “Me + All Your Reasons,” as well as latest No. 1 hit, “You Proof,” and his current single, “Thought You Should Know.”
“There are 36 songs on this album because we just kept exploring with fresh lyrics, music and production ideas and these are the songs that felt right to me,” Wallen added. “It was a blast to create, and I was so grateful to be back in the studio to lay this out for my fans.”

The album follows his record-breaking project, Dangerous: The Double Album, which spawned three chart-topping hits, including “Wasted On You,” “More Than My Hometown,” and “Sand in My Boots.”
Below we compiled a list of 10 fun facts about Morgan Wallen’s new album, One Thing At A Time.
One Thing At A Time Is A Journey Through The Highs & Lows Of Wallen’s Last Few Years
Wallen shared that the new album will be a journey through the ups and downs of the last few years of his life.
“This record represents the last few years of my life, the highs and the lows,” Wallen said in a press release.
The project will include happy songs, sad songs and songs of heartbreak.
“I just try to tell it how it is – the good, the bad, the love, the heartbreak. That’s all I know how to do,” Wallen later added. “My hope is that this album makes my fans proud; makes ’em laugh, smirk, cry, and think – just like it did for me.”
The Project Includes A Song Wallen Wrote In 2015
On Spotify, Wallen explained that the new album features an array of songs from throughout the last few years and even includes a song he wrote in 2015. However, he did not specify which song he wrote then.
“One of the songs I wrote in like 2015 and some of the songs we wrote a week before we had to start tracking the album or before we had to start really getting into the finishing parts of the album. It’s hard to say exactly how long the album took, but over the past three or four months if I haven’t been hunting I’ve been in the studio every single day.”
Three Duets Appear On The Album
One Thing At A Time will feature 36 new songs, including three duets. Wallen’s longtime friends and labelmates, HARDY and ERNEST will join him on songs “In The Bible” and “Cowgirls,” respectively. The East Tennessee native’s musical hero, Eric Church, also sings with him on a song called “Man Made A Bar.”
“I think the fans will be excited about the song with Eric Church, just because they know how much that means to me,” Wallen explained. “Plus, it’s a really good song.”
Wallen’s Sister Ashlyne Wallen Sings On The Project
Morgan Wallen’s sister Ashlyne will sing harmonies on the track, “Outlook.”
“I grew up in church singing three-part harmonies with my two sisters [Ashlyne and Mikaela]. That’s how I learned to sing, so this was a full-circle moment for Ashlyne and me,” Wallen continued.

One Thing At A Time Album Art Tributes His Late “Mamaw Boots”
The project’s album art holds family significance for Wallen as the photo was captured at the home of his late Mamaw in Sneedville, Tennessee.
“My Mamaw Boots helped raise me. I had such a special bond with her, so I wanted to honor her with this new record,” Wallen said.
He recently opened up about the album art on Spotify, sharing, “My Mamaw Boots is someone who made a big impact throughout my whole life, you know? She kind of help raise me. She let me drive for the first time and things like that, so, I’ve always just had a special relationship with her. She’s no longer with us, but I wanted to show the world how much she meant to me and the album cover was shot on her front porch.”
The photo that appears as the album artwork was captured by Ryan Smith (also known as @SpideySmith on Instagram), who is the same photographer that took the photo that appears on the cover of Dangerous: The Double Album.
The Project Features 49 Songwriters
One Thing At A Time features a star-studded list of 49 songwriters, including ERNEST, HARDY (whose real name is Michael Hardy), Miranda Lambert, Ryan Hurd, Devin Dawson and Travis Denning.
ERNEST and HARDY not only appear on duets on the project, but they also wrote several songs on the album. In fact, ERNEST co-wrote 11 songs and HARDY had a hand in penning 3 of the 36 tracks.
Country superstar Miranda Lambert also penned a track on the album, Wallen’s current single at Country radio, “Thought You Should Know.”
Ryan Hurd, Travis Denning, Larry Fleet, and Devin Dawson also each wrote a song on the album, including “Last Drive Down Main,” “Devil Don’t Know,” “Man Made A Bar” and “I Deserve A Drink,” respectively.
Wallen’s third studio album also includes songs penned by some of Nashville most prolific songwriters, including Ashley Gorley, Jeff Hyde, Rodney Clawson, Nicolle Galyon, Hillary Lindsey, John Pierce, Jessi Alexander, Ryan Vojtesak (Charlie Handsome), and many more.
Includes Two Out-Of-Genre Samples
The album includes two out-of-genre samples, including a rock and rap song. The project features interpolation of The Allman Brothers’ “Midnight Rider” on the track titled “Everything I Love,” as well as a sample of Young Thug’s “Lifestyle” on “180 (Lifestyle).”
“[One Thing At A Time] also brings together the musical influences that have shaped me as an artist – country, alternative and hip-hop,” Wallen explained.
Showcases His Love For Baseball & Tennessee
Wallen, who is an avid baseball fan and a former baseball player, showcases his love for the sport on the new album with the song, “98 Braves,” which is presumably about the Atlanta Braves.
The 29-year-old hitmaker is no stranger to paying homage to his East Tennessee roots and this album is no different. Wallen was sure to include several tunes that mention his home state of Tennessee, including “Tennessee Fan” and “Tennessee Numbers.”
The Album Already Features A Chart-Topping Hit That Broke A Billboard Chart Record
The project already features a chart-topping hit, Wallen’s fifth No. 1 at Country radio, “You Proof.”
“You Proof” recently broke the Billboard Country Airplay Chart record and is now the longest-leading No. 1 in chart’s history. The tune broke a record previously held by Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett’s 2003 hit “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere” and Lonestar’s 1999 pop crossover hit “Amazed,” both of which spent eight weeks at No. 1.
One Thing At A Time will likely spawn several more No. 1 hits for Wallen, including his current chart-climbing hit, “Thought You Should Know,” which is rapidly approaching the No. 1 spot.
One Thing At A Time Features More Songs Than Dangerous: The Double Album
Morgan Wallen’s forthcoming new album features 36 tracks, which is three more songs than the deluxe edition of his record-breaking sophomore project, Dangerous: The Double Album, which was released in January of 2021.
