One day before the track’s release on his 29th Birthday, Morgan Wallen performed “You Proof” for the first time ever.

On Thursday (May 12) at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, the East Tennessee native delivered the live debut of the just-released, fan-favorite hit.

“This is the first time we ever played it! It’s been a long time coming,” Wallen told the capacity crowd. “We’re going to play this song for the first-time ever. Hope y’all like it man, it’s called ‘You Proof’.”

Luckily, a fan in attendance at Ball Arena filmed the entire performance and share the clip to TikTok for those who weren’t there to get to witness the first live performance of the song.

Joined by his full band, Wallen performed the new song in front of a sold out audience on his Dangerous Tour. Fans in attendance already knew every word to the song, which wasn’t even released yet at the time of his performance.

The East Tennessee native and country superstar shared his new song, “You Proof” on Friday, May 13, which also happens to be his 29th Birthday.

The song finds Wallen seemingly singing about drinking away the memory of a previous lover.

“Ain’t nobody sellin’ nothing you proof / something stronger than I’m used to / I’ve been pouring 90-100 feelin’ like nothings gonna cut it that’s the hard truth / I need something you proof / I need something you proof,” Wallen sings in the chorus. “I’ve been mixing liquors trying get you gone / but I guess I must be doing something wrong / ’cause I’ve been workin’ hard to fade your memory / but the only thing faded is me / I need something you proof / something stronger than I’m used to / I’ve been pouring 90-100 feelin’ like nothing’s gonna cut it that’s the hard truth.”

Morgan Wallen First Teased The New Song In July of 2021

Wallen first shared the song with fans on social media in Summer of 2021, when he released a recording of tune on Instagram. The clip has amassed over 1.8 million streams since he initially teased it.

“You Proof. Been wanting to put out new music,” he captioned the audio file at the time.

Wallen Is Currently Embarking On His Sold-Out Headlining Tour

Additionally, Morgan Wallen is currently in the midst of his massive The Dangerous Tour in support of the project. The tour, which is the biggest country tour of 2022 and runs through October, recently sold-out with over 800,000 tickets sold, according to Up2DateCountry.

In addition to HARDY and Larry Fleet, the country hitmaker recently added Lainey Wilson, Kameron Marlowe, Chase Rice, Ian Munsick, and ERNEST to his sold-out tour lineup.

The singer recently announced his first-ever Stadium show in Arlington, Texas, at Globe Life Field on October 8, 2022, with special guests HARDY, Mike Ryan and Jake Worthington.

He will also return to Colorado in September for Dierks Bentley’s Seven Peaks Festival.
