Morgan Wallen unveiled that he will be releasing the unreleased fan-favorite hit “You Proof” to celebrate his birthday later this month.

The East Tennessee native and country superstar took to TikTok on Sunday evening (May 1) to reveal that he will officially be releasing his previously teased new song, “You Proof,” on Friday, May 13.

“Y’all know I couldn’t forget about this one,” Wallen captioned the audio work tape. “Birthday present to myself. May 13th.”

The song, called “You Proof,” finds Wallen seemingly singing about drinking away the memory of a previous lover.

“Ain’t nobody sellin’ nothing you proof / something stronger than I’m used to / I’ve been pouring 90-100 feelin’ like nothings gonna cut it that’s the hard truth / I need something you proof / I need something you proof,” Wallen sings in the chorus. “I’ve been mixing liquors trying get you gone / but I guess I must be doing something wrong / ’cause I’ve been workin’ hard to fade your memory / but the only thing faded is me / I need something you proof / something stronger than I’m used to / I’ve been pouring 90-100 feelin’ like nothing’s gonna cut it that’s the hard truth.”

Morgan Wallen Previously Teased The New Song In July of 2021

Wallen first shared the song with fans on social media in Summer of 2021, when he released a recording of tune on Instagram. The clip has amassed over 1.8 million streams since he initially teased it.

“You proof. Been wanting to put out new music,” he captioned the audio file at the time.
