Morgan Wallen released a trio of new songs as part of a three song collection called One Thing At A Time – Sampler.
On Friday (Dec. 2), the East Tennessee native shared the triad of tunes, including “One Thing At A Time,” “Days That End In Why” and the previously teased tune, “Tennessee Fan.” The new songs are just a taste of what’s to come on his forthcoming third studio album, which will follow his record-breaking sophomore project, Dangerous: The Double Album.
“I’m not quite done making this new album, so I’m going to keep making it through the holiday break and early January to chase this inspiration,” Wallen shared in a press release. ”I promise I won’t wait too long to reveal the album details. To hold you over, I’m dropping three new songs today as a sampler of what I’ve been working on. Can’t wait to take it one night at a time in 2023.”

“Tennessee Fan”
Co-written by Wallen alongside HARDY, Mark Holman and Ashley Gorley, the song’s storyline follows a character who meets an Alabama fan at a Tennessee bar after a football game. The pair ended up hitting it off and the character turned his love interest into a Tennessee fan for life and even though his team didn’t win, the character admits he ended up getting the “number one pick.”
Wallen also references the ongoing rivalry between the Tennessee Volunteers and Alabama’s Crimson Tide within the tune’s lyrics.
“They beat us every damn year / It’s been a minute since we pulled out a win / I loaded the truck down with beer / drove down to watch ’em do it again / and they did so we went to the bar right after / met a girl with a hounds tooth brand of her chapter / on her shirt and it turned into talking all night / she came back with me crossed the Vols state line / guess the joke’s on Alabama / ’cause they lost big this time / I’ve got the number one pick blonde hair, red lips brought her over to the other side / a little deep south delta Gamma / done found a Smokey Mountain man / she was raised roll tide ’til the day she died / but ever since that night she’s been a Tennessee fan…”
“One Thing At A Time”
The tune, which serves as the title track to his just announced world tour, was co-written by Wallen alongside Ashley Gorley, ERNEST and Ryan Vojtesak. “One Thing At A Time” finds the country hitmaker realizing that he has a lot of bad habits that he has to stop while admitting that he can’t just kick them all at once and that he has to take it one thing at a time.
“I can either burn the bar down / Or I can take your number out my phone / I can give you up right now / Never want you back long as I’m half stoned / If you want me to quit you / Want me to get you out of my heart and baby off my mind / I hate to tell ya girl / But I’m only quitting one thing at a time / Aw yeah I hate to tell you / Aw yeah I hate to tell you,” Wallen sings on the chorus of the catchy new tune.
“Days That End In Why”
Co-written by John Byron, Blake Pendergrass and Driver Williams, “Days That End In Why” finds Wallen missing his past lover and questioning a breakup every day of the week.
“I know how a goodbye sounds when it’s pedal down in tail light glow / I know what she said and I won’t forget where she told me to go / But hell ever since them Goodyears pulled right out my dead grass drive / It’s been nights that start with whiskey / And days that end in why,” Wallen sings on the tune’s chorus.
The three new songs arrive on the heels of his new single at Country radio, “Thought You Should Know,” sitting in the Top 20 as his latest chart-topping hit, “You Proof,” returns to the top of the charts for a rare sixth, non-consecutive week atop the Country Airplay chart.
The news comes alongside the announcement of his massive 2023 One Night At A Time World Tour. The trek, which will feature support from ERNEST and Bailey Zimmerman on all dates as well as HARDY and Parker McCollum on select dates, will visit 4 countries and 2 continents.
Morgan Wallen’s One Night At A Time World Tour will kick off on March 15 with shows in New Zealand and Australia with HARDY.
Beginning on April 15, Wallen will make his way around North America with stops at 17 stadiums as well as various arenas, amphitheaters, and festivals.

After making his stadium debut with a record-breaking show at Globe Life Field in Texas, Wallen will visit several ballparks throughout North America, including New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, Milwaukee’s American Family Field, Chicago’s Wrigley Field, Boston’s Fenway Park and more.
Produced by Live Nation, the North American leg of the trek will wrap up on October 7 at Tacoma Dome in Washington.

Wallen’s “You Proof” continues its wildly successful run at country radio as it reclaimed the No.1 spot on Billboard’s Country Airplay for the 6th non-consecutive week. Meanwhile, his newest single, “Thought You Should Know,” continues to make its way up the charts.
The tour comes after his highly successful Dangerous Tour, which included more than 50 dates. The record-breaking trek broke records at 30 venues across the U.S., including historic sellouts at 11 venues.
In an effort to give back to those in need, Wallen will donate $3 of every ticket sold on the U.S. dates to the Morgan Wallen Foundation. Established in 2021, the foundation benefits causes near and dear to the superstar’s heart, including organizations such as Greater Good Music, Children Are People, the Salvation Army, and the National Museum of African American Music.
There is no official pre-sale in the U.S. for this tour, so fans are advised to only purchase through verified fans.
