Morgan Wallen is gearing up for his highly-anticipated I’m The Problem Tour, which launches on June 20 in Houston, and according to the country superstar himself, fans can expect a forever-changing set list throughout the headlining stadium trek. While the set list is expected to feature some of his biggest hits, it will also include lots of new songs from his fourth studio album, I’m The Problem, where the tour takes its namesake.

Morgan Wallen Talks I’m The Problem Tour Set List

The 31-year-old East Tennessee native recently opened up about his tour and the tour’s set list during an appearance on Theo Von’s podcast, This Past Weekend with Theo Von (episode 573). He began by sharing that it’s quite a challenge to craft a set list with such a large catalog of fan-favorite hits and a 37 track new album, which arrives a month before the launch of the tour.

“I’ll play some of my album there,” Wallen shared, referencing his headlining slot at his inaugural Morgan Wallen Presents Sand In My Boots Festival. “The album comes out on the 16th. I play on the 18th. I’ll play some of the new stuff. That’s another thing, man. It’s hard picking a set list at this point, too. That gets real tricky.”

Rotating Songs In And Out Of The Set List

Morgan Wallen then revealed that the process of creating a set list is a collaborative effort between him, his band and data. “A lot of it’s data driven because you can see what songs the majority of people want to hear,” he explained. “You’re always going to miss somebody’s favorite song. You’re probably going to miss my favorite song in some sets.”

Because this tour only includes 20 shows, Wallen said he’s hoping to break away from the repetition of past set lists by rotating songs more often. “Last year I interchanged a couple [songs], but I think it’s going to be… I’m going to make a bigger effort to try to make the set list different for at least each night,” Wallen continued. “Maybe not every single show would be a different set list, but night one/night two, because we’re playing two nights in each place, so trying to separate the two nights as far as music goes should be interesting because we’ve never done that before.”

While he acknowledges that it’s impossible to please everyone, Wallen promises to make an attempt to give fans a different show each night. “There’s really no way to do it perfectly,” he admitted. “Somebody’s going to be disappointed… but trying our best.”

And if you’re expecting a Taylor Swift-style, three-hour marathon from the “Just In Case” singer — Wallen made it clear that’s not in the cards. “I’m not going to play for four hours either,” he added with a laugh. “Two hours, maybe a little longer than two hours.”

Morgan Wallen’s I’m The Problem Tour Support

Morgan Wallen’s I’m The Problem Stadium Tour will feature rotating direct support from Brooks & Dunn, Miranda LambertThomas Rhett and Koe Wetzel, with additional support from Gavin Adcock, Corey Kent, Ella Langley and Anne Wilson on select dates.

“It’s unbelievable to me. Just to see the people that are opening for me, it doesn’t even make sense,” Wallen said humbly, while reflecting on the impressive tour lineup with Theo Von.

Produced By Live Nation, Wallen’s headlining I’m The Problem Tour will kick off with back-to-back shows at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, on June 20 and June 21. The chart-topping singer/songwriter will make stops at 10 stadiums (20-shows, two per city) across the U.S. and Canada, running through September 13, with the tour wrapping up in Edmonton, Alberta, at Commonwealth Stadium for two back-to-back shows.

New Album, I’m The Problem

The trek comes in support of his upcoming fourth studio album, I’m The Problem, which arrives on May 16 and feature a 37 song track list. The project will include previously released songs such as “Smile,” “Lies Lies Lies,” “Love Somebody,” “Just In Case” and “I’m A Little Crazy,” as well as “Superman,” a heartfelt track he wrote as a letter to his son, Indigo, and more. His musical hero Eric Church, along with Post Malone, Tate McRae, and longtime friends and collaborators HARDY and Ernest, will also be featured on the upcoming project.
