Tucker Wetmore just revealed who he is bringing as his date to the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards (2025 ACM Awards).

Tucker Wetmore Is Bringing His Mom As His 2025 ACM Awards Red Carpet Date

While chatting with Country Now, the fast-rising country star explained why it “means the world… in a lot of ways” to have his mother, Sia, by his side at the prestigious awards show.

“I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for her. She’s the one that pushed me to do music to kind of chase this dream that I had, and she’s one of the best women I’ve ever met in my life. She’s like my best friend and so it’s going to be really cool,” Wetmore told the outlet.

In the interview, he also revealed what he and his mother would be wearing on the red carpet. Wetmore detailed that he’d be wearing a gray suit and his mom would be donning a black dress and Kendra Scott jewelry that he got for her. “I think she went and got a pedicure or something like that. I took her to Kendra Scott this morning. We did a thing with Kendra Scott for Mother’s Day and for the ACM Awards, and so she’ll be decked out in some jewelry,” he continued.

What makes the moment even more special is that the ACM Awards fall just three days before Mother’s Day, making it the perfect gift for his mom to be by his side for such a memorable occasion.

Wetmore Credits His Mother For His Country Music Career

Tucker Wetmore has been very open about his mother being a “huge part of why I’m even in music right now.”

During a recent interview with The Recording Academy (GRAMMYs), “She’s an angel. We have a really tight relationship. She’s been through so much, and I’ve been through so much with her. My perspective on life really changed when I realized that this is my mom’s first time living life too. I just know she’s been through so much, and she has always provided — sometimes even [doing] three jobs at a time — putting food on the table for me and my four sisters. I trust her with my life. She’s one of my best friends.”

After an injury ended his football career, leaving him uncertain about his next move, his mom suggested he pick up his guitar and piano, sparking him to write his first song and to pursue a career in Country music. “I moved back home, and I was super lost [and] I was like, ‘Ma, I don’t know what I’m doing. I don’t know what I want to do with my life,’” he recalled in an interview with ABC Audio. “She was like, ‘Just go sit in front of your piano or pick up your guitar. That was your therapy back in the day.’ So I wrote my first song that night and I never looked back. I wrote my first song in 2019, I moved to Nashville in 2020.”

Since then, he’s gone on to become a country star with a major record deal with UMG Nashville, a publishing deal with Back Blocks Music, and earned his first chart-topping hit with “Wind Up Missin’ You.” He sold out his first headlining tour and released his debut album, What Not To. Now, he’s paying it forward by bringing his mom as his date to the ACM Awards, and it means the world to him to be able to do so.

Wetmore’s mom has also been by his side for several other milestone moments in his career, including his Opry debut, Red Rock Amphitheatre debut and more.

First-Time ACM Nominee

Tucker Wetmore heads into the 2025 ACM Awards as a first-time nominee in the New Male Artist of the Year category, alongside Bailey Zimmerman, Gavin Adcock, Shaboozey and Zach Top — who was announced as the winner ahead of the ceremony.

“This kid just got his first ACM nomination, and let me tell ya… he would be damn proud. I get to wake up and do what I love every day, and moments like these are a reminder of Gods work in my life and how truly blessed I am. Thank you to my team, the fans, and to country music. I love you all,” he said of his first-ever ACM Award nomination.

2025 ACM Awards

The 60th ACM Awards are set to take place on Thursday, May 8 and will air live from Ford Center at The Star (the world headquarters of the Dallas Cowboys) on Prime Video at 8/7c.
