The country superstar lit up the stage and commanded the crowd’s attention, including the Top 10 American Idol hopefuls as well host Ryan Seacrest and judges Lionel Richie, Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan. Donning an all black ensemble complete with silver embellishments and cowboy boots, Miranda Lambert dominated the Idol stage as flames filled the screen behind her and smoke shot up from the stage floor.

“I gave it everything I had and everything I got was bad/ Life ain’t hard, but it’s too long to live it like some country song/ Trade the truth in for a lie, cheatin’ really ain’t a crime/ I’m givin’ up on love ’cause love’s given up on me,” Lambert belted out during her energy-filled Idol performance.

Celebrating 20th Anniversary of Kerosene

The performance comes as a celebration of the 20th anniversary of “Kerosene,” which she released in 2005 on her debut album of the same name.

Not only did Lambert perform, but she also served as a mentor to the Top 10 Idol hopefuls. Following her feisty performance of her chart-topping, she took a moment to chat with Idol host Ryan Seacrest, where they discussed her mentorship role.

“I love them all so much. I’ve had such a blast getting to be part of this Idol family and getting to know these wonderful artists. It has been a real blessing to me,” Lambert said before plugging her new record label, Big Loud Texas, where she proudly keeps the “outlaw movement going.”

The Texas native commemorated the 20-year anniversary of her major label debut album, Kerosene, earlier this year, releasing the project on vinyl for the first time ever as well as dropped a new song that didn’t make the album at the time of its initial release, titled “I Don’t Love Here Anymore.”

“This album changed everything for me,” Lambert said of the project in a recent press release. “It’s where my journey truly began, and I can hardly believe it’s been 20 years. Releasing Kerosene on vinyl for the first time—and sharing a never-before-heard song from that era—feels incredibly special. I can’t wait for y’all to hear it and relive the fire that started it all!”

Kerosene debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart following its March 15, 2005 release and later earned Platinum certification from the RIAA.
