It’s no surprise that artists often write songs about the people they are romantically involved with or about their exes. Take for example, Taylor Swift. She has spent much of her successful musical career opening up about her relationships in songs.

And while some men or women might be turned off by the fact that a song has been written about them, when it comes to P!nk and her husband Carey Hart, nothing is off the table. In fact, P!nk, whose real name is Alecia Moore, has admitted that Hart is often the inspiration for the songs she writes. And that doesn’t always mean they are love songs.

The international pop superstar, 43, even shared that she has penned one track about her spouse on her new ninth studio album, Trustfall, which was released in February of 2023.

“There’s one on the new album that was a hard day,” P!nk said without naming the song during a recent appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show. “I played it for him because that’s fair. He should know what’s being said about him in the world.”

And despite P!nk relating the tune to one of her tougher days, she noted that Hart doesn’t mind at all that she uses him as her muse.

“Well, you have to take in Carey’s amount of feelings he can handle and how much he is actually thinking about the words that I’m saying or listening at all. I think he’s fine,” she said, without discussing the lyrics in the track. “He just started giggling, and he was like, ‘Well, you’re welcome.”

More recently, Hart, 47, appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show where he opened up about his wife’s recent conversation with host Kelly Clarkson as well as her actions of incorporating information about him in her music.

How Does Carey Hart Really Feel About P!nk Writing Songs About Him?

“It’s very accurate,” he acknowledged while speaking to Clarkson on Thursday (May 4). “We’ve been together for 21 years. I have very thick skin. So very little affects me.”

“Yeah. And I don’t know exactly what day she’s talking about specifically, but it’s probably just the temperature,” the former motocross competitor added of his bride calling him out on songs.

P!nk and Hart, who share two children, a daughter Willow, 11, and son Jameson, 6, together, got married in 2006. Ever since they tied the knot, they have been open about the highs and lows of their relationship.

The Secret To P!nk And Carey Hart’s Strong Marriage

In 2021, P!nk got candid in an interview with Extra saying that counseling was the secret to her long and strong marriage with Hart.

“For us, the answer is… there’s no quit button. Unless we find one. Right now, we don’t have one,” she said. “But it’s also couples counseling. Learning how to speak the same language. ‘Cause we don’t speak the same language.”

“We love being a family. And we both come from families that gave up, and that’s okay,” P!nk continued. “That was their journey, that was the journey we all were supposed to be on. But for us, we don’t want to do that.”

P!nk released Trustfall on Friday (Feb. 17) via RCA Records. The project features grooves like “Never Gonna Not Dance Again,” “Runaway,” and “Last Call”. The album follows 2019’s Hurts 2B Human.

Beginning July 14, P!nk will take the road for her Summer Carnival Stadium 2023 tour. The trek will conclude on Oct. 9 at Chase Field in Phoenix.
