Gabby Barrett is giving fans an update on her forthcoming, yet-to-be announced sophomore album.

During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight at Stagecoach, the chart-topping singer/songwriter revealed that her sophomore album is “almost finished” and that the project will arrive later “this year.”

When Will Gabby Barrett’s New Album Be Released?

She was then asked if she could share a potential release date for the new music, which she replied, “hopefully, like, early fall is the goal.”

Barrett also told the outlet that her new album will include more mature music that she truly resonates with.

“I’m way more intentionally connected to these songs than my first album, I would say. Every song moves me in a certain way, and it’s just me grown up. The past years that I’ve lived, I’ve lived a lot of years in a short amount of time. It’s grown up, it’s fresh, and I’m hoping people really can resonate with it.”

It seems Gabby Barrett is already working on the imagery for her new album. She recently took to social media to share a clip of a photoshoot, which sent fans into a frenzy in the comments, with some asking if the photos were for her new album art or a single while others shared their excitement for her new music.

“AHHHHHHH!!!!!! I’m So Excited for Your New Album!” one fan wrote, while another added, “I literally can not wait for your next album!!”

A New Song Co-Written By Luke Combs Will Appear On The Project

Earlier this year, while co-hosting Country Countdown USA alongside Lon Helton, Barrett opened up about a song on the new album that was written by Luke Combs.

“I’m a big fan of his. He pitched me a song not too long ago,” Gabby Barrett explained. “As soon as I heard it, I was like it really strikes a chord with me. I’m definitely gonna put it on my next album coming out later this year. He was very adamant about the song and me recording it. I think it’s an awesome song, and it’s coming out this year.”

Recently Shared A Snippet Of The Tune Luke Combs Co-Wrote

In March of 2023, Barrett shared an audio work tape of the new tune co-penned by Combs alongside James McNair and Emily Weisband.

In the brief teaser clip, the 23-year-old singer allowed her angelic vocals to shine while belting out the lyrics to the forthcoming tune.

“He said dance like no one’s watching / whatever you do / and if life gives you love fall in / but always be you / cause girl it’s a big world and it’s so easy to get lost in / so dance like no one’s watching,” Barrett sang.

Will Gabby Barrett Release A Duet With Husband Cade Foehner On Her New Album?

While chatting with Helton, Barrett also hinted that a duet with her husband Cade Foehner may also appear on the project.

“Probably, there’s a good chance [of Cade and I are releasing a duet]. There have been a lot of requests for that,” Barrett continued. “Maybe on album two this year. You never know. I’ll let you know!”

She previously teased a duet with her husband during a discussion with Music Mayhem in 2020. At the time, she explained, “I can definitely see us doing a song together. We’ve gotten requests from so many people to do that… It has been fans from Idol and fans of our marriage and our relationship so definitely. I would love to and we may or may not already have something in the works for that in the future now. So, yes!”

Foehner Is Barrett’s Muse For Songwriting And Serves As Her Lead Guitarist

Barrett and Foehner, who is Barrett’s husband and lead guitarist, have never released a duet together. However, the couple have performed as well as written songs together. Foehner contributed to several songs on Barrett’s debut album, Goldmine, including “Got Me,” which he co-wrote. Cade Foehner’s outstanding guitar solos are also featured on Barrett’s song, “Footprints On The Moon.”

In addition, Cade Foehner also often serves as Barrett’s muse for songwriting. Barrett puts her and Foehner’s picture-perfect love story on full-display in songs such as “Thank God,” “Write It On My Heart,” “Strong,” “Hall Of Fame,” “Goldmine,” “The Good Ones” and her current single “Pick Me Up.”

While Barrett has yet to share a release date for the new album, In a recent interview with The Music Connection she said that she wants to “make sure that the music is the best that I can come up with.” Later adding, “I’m definitely excited to release new music, whatever that will be.”

Gabby Barrett’s New Album Will Follow Her Record-Breaking Debut Project, Goldmine

The Pennsylvania native’s forthcoming album will follow her record-breaking debut album, Goldmine, that spawned chart-topping hits such as “The Good Ones” and her debut single “I Hope.”

The mother of two also released a deluxe edition of Goldmine, which featured four new songs, including “Pick Me Up,” “Never Get It Back,” “The Good Ones (Wedding Version),” and a cover of Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You” in addition to the 13 original tracks.

Gabby Barrett is currently performing on select dates of Kane Brown’s Drunk or Dreaming Tour amidst her own headlining shows.

Hometown Concert In Pittsburgh

She will also return to Pittsburgh for a homecoming concert that will take place after the Pittsburgh Pirates game at PNC Park on August 11.

“I’m so thankful to have performed the national anthem several times for the Pittsburgh Pirates and can’t wait to come back to my hometown for this show,” Barrett shared. “I remember standing on their field as a little girl, and now being able to return to the same place with my own little girl is something really special. I’m excited to enjoy the game with my family this August.”

Additionally, Barrett is also set to take the stage at several upcoming festivals, including Country Roots, Winstock Music Festival, We Fest, Gulf Coast Jam and more.
