Today, female country artist Gabby Barrett has released the deluxe edition of her Goldmine album, and the new additions, including a Dolly Parton cover, did not disappoint.

Barrett first released her debut Goldmine album in 2020, a few years after her time on American Idol came to an end. Since then, she has become a wife, a first-time mom, and a country artist on the rise, beaming with success.

Earlier this month, Barrett announced that she wasn’t quite finished with Goldmine, while she appeared as a guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on CBS, followed by a performance of “Footprints On The Moon.”

This upgraded project includes four new songs, “Pick Me Up,” “Never Get It Back,” a wedding version of her hit, “The Good Ones,” and a cover of Dolly Parton’s song, “I Will Always Love You,” in addition to the tracks on the original version of the album.

“I did ‘I Will Always Love You’. I love Dolly Parton, she’s someone I absolutely love and has inspired me in a lot of ways,” Barrett said in a recent interview with Audacy’s Katie Neal. “She always wrote songs that are true to her life and her life story. I kind of did it as a tribute to her. I kind of did it in the style of Whitney Houston, the way that she sang it. I love Country and R&B, so you kind of get the mix of both.”

The new, stripped down version of “The Good Ones” will become an anthem for many couples on their special day. Although hearing Barrett perform this love song live at a wedding would be an incredibly magical moment, her special track is the second-best option for a first dance. This song embraces love, romance, and finding one of “The Good Ones” as her life-long partner.

“A lot of people said they were using it for their weddings, so on my Goldmine (Deluxe) album… I have a wedding version of ‘The Good Ones’ coming out specifically for people who want to use it for those types of events,” Gabby said after sharing she received many messages from fans who were using the song for their weddings. “It’s very special.”

Her fiery passion continues in the two other songs that were added to this record, “Pick Me Up,” the laid-back love song that pays homage to George Strait, and her coming of age song, “Never Get It Back” that dives into the realization of growing up and having to leave your childhood behind.

Barrett recently performed “The Good Ones” during the 55th Annual CMA Awards, wearing a stunning white gown with a train that elegantly draped around her. The same night, she was also nominated for four awards including Female Vocalist of the Year, New Artist of the year, and Song of the Year and Single of the Year for “The Good Ones.”

The appearances don’t stop for this powerful country artist because on Monday, November 29, Barrett will be co-hosting the upcoming CMA Country Christmas special, alongside 2021 CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, Carly Pearce. She will also be performing that night, in addition to other country artists including BRELAND, Lady A, Carrie Underwood and many more.
