Reba McEntire is someone who fully understands the meaning behind the season of giving. This year, she joined in on Lifetime’s Gift of a Lifetime initiative (shared via PEOPLE), to make someone’s holiday season much brighter.

Because of McEntire’s generosity, a single mom named Terrié Moore, who has worked tirelessly to overcome addiction and sexual abuse in order to be there for her two children, has been surprised with a fully-furnished apartment for her and her family to comfortably live in.

Earlier this week, a video showcasing the heartwarming surprise was shared on Lifetime. McEntire opens the clip saying, “Lifetime is teaming up with Regions bank and its non-profit community partners to give Terrié this amazing gift of a lifetime. Exciting!”

The single mother, Moore, thought she was filming for an organization she is a part of, known as Thistle Farms, but the reality is, she was the star of the show. The video continued with Moore sharing her story, explaining the struggles that she has endured, revealing her incredible strength.

“I grew up in Nashville, Tennessee. Around the age of 4, that was the first time I remember being sexually abused,” Moore recalled before having to take a moment to collect her painful thoughts. “I remember going to high school, it’s crazy because I remember looking around the classroom and [being] like, ‘I wonder who’s gonna be on drugs?’ It ended up being me.”

“Terrié is a young woman who hit the bottom before she realized she was really in a bad situation,” McEntire explained.

Luckily, Moore eventually got connected with Thistle Farms, the non-profit organization that gave her a second chance.

She received housing, she got a job with the education and outreach department, and she was able to work towards overcoming her addiction, slowly building a brighter future for herself. Moore plans to complete the program this fall, and then she will return to living independently. Soon, she would find out that a huge weight was about to be lifted off her shoulders, during this new chapter in her life.

The surprise then unfolded as Moore approached what she thought was just a new filming location.

The door of the building opened to reveal country music star Reba McEntire ready with a warm welcome in her festive red Christmas sweater. She told Moore, “Girl, you are loved.” Upon learning that she now has a fully furnished apartment for her to live in rent-free for two years, the single mother broke down in tears of joy and appreciation.

The two walked around the apartment, admiring the holiday decor that was added to every room, including the stockings that were hung for her and her kids and the beautifully lit Christmas tree in the corner of the living room that was surrounded by presents.

Moore was overcome by joy and excitement, seeing the new room her kids would get to share. “I’m so grateful to Lifetime, to thistle farms… I’ve been shaking on the inside, I just feel so blessed.”

“Terrié’s reaction was priceless,” McEntire said. “It was just priceless, thanks so much for letting me be a part of it.”
