Gabby Barrett is giving fans a taste of her yet-to-be announced second studio album with an unreleased new song written by Luke Combs.

The country superstar took to social media on Friday evening (Mar. 10) to share an audio work tape of a new tune co-penned by Combs alongside James McNair and Emily Weisband.

In the brief teaser clip, Barrett allowed her angelic vocals to shine while belting out the lyrics to the forthcoming tune.

“He said dance like no one’s watching / whatever you do / and if life gives you love fall in / but always be you / cause girl it’s a big world and it’s so easy to get lost in / so dance like no one’s watching,” Barrett sings in the clip.

While co-hosting Country Countdown USA alongside Lon Helton, the mother of two opened up about the new tune she’s recording that Combs wrote.

“I’m a big fan of his. He pitched me a song not too long ago,” Barrett explained. “As soon as I heard it, I was like it really strikes a chord with me. I’m definitely gonna put it on my next album coming out later this year. He was very adamant about the song and me recording it. I think it’s an awesome song, and it’s coming out this year.”

Will Gabby Barrett Release A Duet With Her Husband On The New Album

Barrett also hinted that a duet with her husband Cade Foehner could also appear on her sophomore project.

“Probably, there’s a good chance [of Cade and I are releasing a duet]. There have been a lot of requests for that,” Barrett teased. “Maybe on album two this year. You never know. I’ll let you know!”

In 2020, Barrett told Music Mayhem a duet with her husband could already be in the works.

“I can definitely see us doing a song together. We’ve gotten requests from so many people to do that… It has been fans from Idol and fans of our marriage and our relationship so definitely. I would love to and we may or may not already have something in the works for that in the future now. So, yes!”

Cade Foehner also often serves as Barrett’s muse for songwriting. Barrett puts her and Foehner’s picture-perfect love story on full-display in songs such as “Thank God,” “Write It On My Heart,” “Strong,” “Hall Of Fame,” “Goldmine,” “The Good Ones” and her latest single “Pick Me Up.”

New Song Will Appear On Her Forthcoming Sophomore Album

The upcoming new song will appear on Barrett’s sophomore album. Barrett previously teased her new album during an interview with The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

“We’ve been focusing on [my new album] a lot throughout the summer and planning for that before going on maternity leave, so as soon as I’m done touring this weekend, in September, we’re going to be doing a lot of recording,” Barrett told the outlet at the time. “We should have a lot of the second album done by the end of next month. That’s something to look forward to.”

She also teased her upcoming album in September of 2022.

“Album #2 at work… ,” she wrote alongside an audio clip.

The Pennsylvania native’s new album follows her record-breaking debut project, Goldmine, which spawned chart-topping hits such as “The Good Ones” and “I Hope.”

Barrett also released a deluxe edition of Goldmine. In addition to the 13 original tracks, the deluxe version of the project included four new songs, including “Pick Me Up,” “Never Get It Back,” “The Good Ones (Wedding Version),” and a cover of Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You.”

Barrett Will Soon Return To The Road

Gabby Barrett took some time off as she and her husband, Cade, welcomed their second child, Augustine Boone Foehner. Augustine joined sister, Baylah May, who was born on January 18, 2021.

Barrett will soon return to the road as support on Kane Brown’s headlining trek, dubbed the Drunk or Dreaming Tour. The Drunk or Dreaming tour is set to kick off on March 16 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The trek, which wraps up on June 10 in Greenwood Village, Colorado, also features support from Dustin Lynch and LoCash.

Additionally, the chart-topping singer/songwriter will also appear on several upcoming festivals. Barrett will perform at Stagecoach, Country Roots, Winstock Music Festival, We Fest, Gulf Coast Jam and more.
