As Lauren Alaina embarks on a new chapter of motherhood, the 30-year-old powerhouse singer is sharing a brand-new track with fans, titled “Heaven Sent.”

Lauren Alaina Releases New Song, “Heaven Sent”

Out now (Friday, June 13) via Big Loud Records, this extremely personal and timely song dives into the idea of receiving a gift from the heavens above after suffering through a period of misfortune. Alaina wrote “Heaven Sent” alongside award-winning artist and labelmate, Michael Hardy (HARDY), who she previously collaborated with on the chart-topping hit, “One Beer,” and Ben Johnson. Centering around Alaina’s soaring vocals, “Heaven Sent” features light percussion and picking guitars but also includes HARDY’s signature rock aesthetic throughout the melody of the chorus.

As far as subject matter goes, “Heaven Sent” takes Alaina on a touching journey as she becomes reawakened to the idea that a higher power exists after finding a new purpose through the painful loss of a loved one — presumably the sudden death of her father. The lyrics of the tune find the Georgia native experiencing the joy of getting a positive result on a pregnancy test and coming to a realization that even though she is mourning over the passing of a family member, she believes becoming pregnant was the power of divine intervention.

I woke up one morning with a different kind of tear in my eye / Out of the blue standing at the sink staring at two pretty little pink lines  / With all the hell that I’ve been through, something down here finally made sense  / My whole world, a little baby girl  / That my old man sitting up there in  / Heaven sent,” Alaina sings throughout the sentimental chorus of the track.

Welcomes First Child: Beni Doll Arnold

“Heaven Sent” couldn’t align more with Alaina’s real-life story, as she recently welcomed her first child, a daughter named Beni Doll Arnold. The newborn arrived on Wednesday, June 11 — thirteen days past her due date, as Alaina’s baby girl was originally expected on May 29.

“The right words are hard to find to describe how parts of my heart that I didn’t even know existed were unlocked at 8:44 am when they laid you on my belly for the first time. I will never be the same,” the Grand Ole Opry member captioned the announcement post. “You, to your dad and me, are absolute perfection. We are honored God chose us to be your parents. Thank you to everyone for all of the love, prayers and support for our precious daughter.”

“I have a little surprise for everyone. To celebrate the most precious miracle on Earth, I have decided to release a song I wrote about my daughter. We learned she was coming in a time of deep sadness after the loss of my daddy. I wasn’t sure when I would share Heaven Sent but watching my own husband become a father the last couple of days has made me want to share it with you now.  She came just before Father’s Day. My first without my own father. A day that will forever be hard to me, but I now have a new and perfect reason to celebrate it. Beni’s daddy. My sweet and steady husband. Beni truly is a gift from God that my old man sitting up there in Heaven Sent. It’s out now everywhere.”

First Revealed Her Pregnancy In “Those Kind Of Women” Music Video

Lauren Alaina first revealed her pregnancy earlier this year as part of the music video debut for “Those Kind Of Women.” She and her husband, Cam Arnold, later confirmed the news with PEOPLE and followed that up not long after announcing the baby’s gender. Alaina’s father, J.J. Suddeth, died in 2024, resulting in the cancellation of three shows for the singer. Since receiving news that she has a baby coming, Alaina has shared that she feels her late father had something to do with the little miracle she’s about to meet.

“I do think that my dad passed away and got up in heaven and was like, ‘Hey, we got to work something out down there to send the family something good.’ And it has been such an unexpected blessing,” she explained. “We obviously still talk about and are dealing with the grief of my dad, but this baby has healed a lot of that for us … like it’s a little piece of my dad that will live on.”

“Heaven Sent” also connects Alaina and HARDY even further, as the latter of the two recently became a first-time father to his baby girl Rosie Ryan Hardy, which means he likely had his new daughter on his mind when collaborating on the track. Despite that, he previously told Music Mayhem that he doesn’t intend on focusing on daddy-daughter tracks when in the writing room — unless, of course, an idea for a song sparks.

“This is such an artsy fartsy answer, but I don’t want to write 10 daddy-daughter songs and then just pick the best one and put it on my next album,” he explained. “I have a few ideas in my notes that I want, you know, like things I want to write, and I’m going to try. But I feel like when I have the one that’s like, okay, this is my song about being a dad or having a daughter or whatever that is, I’m going to know it. So the ideas are there for sure, but I’m not forcing anything, and I’m just going to write songs, and when it comes, it comes. And that’s the way I’m, kind of, looking at it right now.”
