Hot off the heels of her recent RIAA diamond certification for “What Ifs” with her childhood friend and fellow country superstar Kane Brown, Lauren Alaina returns with “Household,” a new solo track that’s bound to become her next big hit at Country radio.

Lauren Alaina Releases “Household,” A Radio-Ready Anthem Destined To Be A huge Hit

Titled “Household,” this rollicking tune features a walk-down bass, flickering banjo, and a Western-style melody. Lyrically, the tune tackles the story of someone being in the throes of a troubled and tense relationship that’s hindered by unresolved issues ranging from secrets swept under the rug to alcohol dependence. Alaina keeps the serious subject light with her spunky and charismatic attitude as she showcases her powerhouse vocals on the lyrics she wrote alongside, Casey Brown, Lydia Vaughan, and Parker Welling.

House, hold it together / Diamond ring around the rosie forever / That’s what good girls do / Yeah, that’s what I’ve been told / I ain’t a Barbie doll, he ain’t no Ken / These four walls about to cave in / Home sweet home never felt so cold / How much hell can a household?” Alaina sings throughout the Joey Moi-produced track.

Giving fans an additional treat, Alaina has paired the release of “Household” with the official music video. She brings the scathing story to life, acting out the role of a bitter housewife, serving up some drinks as her fictional husband plays a round of poker with his buddies.

Showcases Alaina’s Sassy Southern Personality

While “Household” showcases the country singer’s Southern personality and sass, the song’s lyrical content is not a reflection of Alaina’s real-life story as she’s happily married and expecting her first child with husband Cam Arnold, whom she wed in February 2024.

According to Alaina, the track was inspired by a phone call she shared with one of her girlfriends. “A girlfriend of mine called me one night and was complaining about her man and she said ‘I tried to talk to my mama about this’ and she said ‘you picked him, you’re going to have to get over it.’ So naturally she called me, because she knew I wouldn’t say that. She said, ‘Lauren, how much whiskey is too much whiskey?’ and I said ‘it sounds like it’s too much whiskey,’ and I wrote down on my nightstand, ‘how much hell could a household’ and this song came from that,” she explained during a recent concert.

“’Household’ is the perfect blend of southern grit and sass. We have all been in a ‘how much hell can household’ scenario. I wrote this song after listening to one of my best friends vent about her relationship. It may not reflect my own marriage, but I think it showcases my personality flawlessly,” Alaina shared in a press release.

Latest Release With Big Loud Records

“Household” is the latest addition of tracks that showcase a new musical chapter for Alaina since signing on with Big Loud Records and the subsequent release of her six-song 2023 EP Unlocked. The tune follows the release of “Those Kind Of Women,” which included a music video that doubled as Alaina’s pregnancy announcement.

Lots Of New Music On The Way

Alaina has even more new music coming soon. During her live shows, she’s been performing another unreleased song called “Boots On The Ground,” and she recently revealed that she will be releasing lots of songs leading up to the release of a full length project.

“We’re still recording, and we have new songs,” Alaina revealed during a conversation with Kelly Sutton and Amber Anderson on Amazon Music’s Country Heat Weekly podcast. “This year, basically, the plan is to release a ton of music. We don’t have a target date specifically for the full-length album, but we have a lot of things coming up in the meantime leading up to that.”
