Jason Aldean said that he finds it “flattering” when people cover his songs in the honky-tonk bars on Lower Broadway in Downtown Nashville.

Aldean recently stopped by The Bobby Bones Show on Apr. 22 in support of his new album, Georgia, the second half of his double album, Macon, Georgia.

Bones asked Aldean if he was into karaoke at all, to which the “Trouble With A Heartbreak” singer responded that he was. Aldean also shared that he doesn’t cover his own songs when he sings karaoke, because doing so is “super corny.”

The Bobby Bones Show host, Bones, then posed the question about other people covering Aldean’s songs while singing karaoke.

“Do you ever see someone sing your songs and they don’t know you’re there, legit?” Bones asked.

“I mean, yeah,” Aldean said. “I’ve walked into clubs before, you know on Broadway downtown and there’s guys in there playing our songs and stuff. And I think that’s flattering, honestly,” he added. “I think that’s pretty cool.”

Aldean also shared that while he won’t go up onstage when someone is covering one of his songs, he will approach them after their performance.

“I’ll talk to them, maybe, when they come offstage, but I’m not gonna go jump onstage,” he explained.

“I can’t imagine if I was onstage singing your song,” Bones responded. “I would urinate right there. Right there,” he said, causing Aldean to laugh.

“In that moment, I’d be like, ‘oh no,’” the iHeartRadio DJ added.

Besides asking Aldean to share his reaction to other people covering his songs, Bones asked the country singer about an expensive gift he recently received from another country artist.

Aldean, who was sporting a Rolex watch during the interview, explained that he received the expensive gift from Garth Brooks. Bones originally guessed Luke Bryan as the person who gifted Aldean the watch, to which Aldean remarked that Luke is “too cheap” to buy him that kind of gift.

Aldean also said that a box was waiting for him in his dressing room when he played a recent show with Brooks. Inside was the Rolex watch.

Not so coincidentally, Aldean has a collaboration with Brantley Gilbert which name checks the brand, Rolex called, “Rolex On A Redneck.”

Aldean released his latest album, Georgia, on Apr. 22. Aldean said the collection is a reflection of “who [he] is and where [he] grew up” on Instagram.

The fahter of four will also hit the road with a variety of summer tour dates, including appearances at CMA Fest, Barefoot Country Music Festival, and Cheyenne Frontier Days.

Aldean will also be embarking on his Rock N’ Roll Cowboy Tour later this summer. The trek, which kicks off in Scranton, Pennsylvania on July 15, features support from Gabby Barrett, John Morgan and Dee Jay Silver.

The tour will visit 34 cities all over the country this summer before wrapping up on October 29 at iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Florida.
