Gabby Barrett revealed a very unique Mother’s Day gift that she received from her husband, Cade Foehner.
During an interview with TC & Dina B at Audacy’s Leading Ladies event, the country superstar and “Pick Me Up” singer talked about her second Mother’s Day, which she says “was really good,” and the gift her husband bought her in honor of the special day.
“My husband is very sweet. Nobody knows about this, you’re the first people that I’m telling this to,” Barrett shared, before revealing the gift that Foehner gave her. “This ring that I have on, is actually a ring – this white part is breast milk which you can save and preserve as a gift for mothers, and the top is her birthstone – my husband got it made for me because he knew I really wanted to do that.”
Barrett said the ring was “the perfect gift,” and something she hopes to one day pass down to her children or grandchildren.
This year, Mother’s Day was extra special for Barrett as it’s the day she revealed she was expecting another child, a baby boy, with Foehner. Their son will join their daughter Baylah May, who was born in January of 2021.
The couple revealed the news on Instagram alongside an ultrasound video of their unborn child.
“My son. 💙 Another LIFE we get to love and cherish,” she wrote. “Happy Mother’s Day.”
Barrett, who is already in her second trimester, also opened up about what it is like performing while pregnant.
“Right now, I’m wearing stretchy pants, definitely around the waist,” Barrett explained. ”Trying to find things that are stylish, but comfortable. It gets to a point in the pregnancy where it’s hard to breathe. When the baby is on top of your diaphragm and everything’s being pushed up. It does get hard, but I am in the beginning of my second trimester where I can still breathe.”
The country superstar and Foehner won’t have a tough time parenting as her and her husband are also coworkers, as Foehner plays lead guitar for Barrett.
“We definitely try to work together as best as we can. We do music together – he plays the guitar, I sing,” Barrett continued. ”Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham musically, we have a good relationship. We work together really well. We have strong values in our family. Make sure that people know that, and share that with everybody. That’s kind of our goal.”
Barrett and Foehner met when they both appeared on Season 16 of American Idol in 2018. Their relationship continued to flourish and Foehner proposed in March of 2019.
Following a short engagement, the pair tied the knot on October 5, 2019, during a small wedding in Garrison, Texas.
Foehner has also inspired several tracks on Barrett’s debut album, including her chart-topping single, “The Good Ones. Most recently, Foehner appeared in Barrett’s just-released music video for her latest single, “Pick Me Up.”
