Cade Foehner honored his wife Gabby Barrett during a recent performance with a special song that he wrote for her.

Foehner, who is also Barrett’s guitarist, joined her on stage at Sea World in Orlando, Florida earlier in the month as part of the Seven Seas Food Festival concert series. Foehner sang his unreleased song, “I Love You” during Barrett’s set at the festival.

“So this song is one that I do for my wife, I wrote it for her a long time ago,” Foehner said, introducing the song. “I wrote it for her when we first started dating and I figured I’d play it out here for you. It’s called ‘I Love You,’” he added, which prompted a loud “aww” from the crowd in response.

Foehner and Barrett met when they were both competing on Season 16 of American Idol in 2018. They got engaged in March 2019 and married a few short months later in October in Foehner’s home state of Texas.

In May 2020, the couple announced they were expecting their first child together. Their daughter, Baylah May, turned one this past January. She even joined her parents at this year’s CMT Music Awards.

Barrett previously said that she and Foehner would love to keep adding to their family.

“We’re ready to add on to our family and get some babies in there,” she told People. “I definitely want to have more than one in the future, for sure.”

“I Love You” Isn’t The First Song Foehner Has Written With Barrett In Mind

“I Love You” is also not the first song that Foehner has written for Barrett. He previously shared track, “Baby, Let’s Do This” in October 2019. Barrett even appeared in the music video for the song, which you can watch below.

“So baby let’s do this / let’s go for it / we can be in Vegas by morning / find us one of those drive through chapels and a preacher that looks like Elvis / You can wear that little white dress you brought / be the prettiest bride that the world ever saw / you know I love you like crazy / You know I can’t wait baby so let’s do this,” Foehner sings on the chorus.

Despite not having released his song, “I Love You,” Foehner frequently sings the tune at many of Barrett’s concerts.

Barrett finds musical inspiration in her relationship with Foehner as well. Her songs, “The Good Ones” and “Hall of Fame,” which both appear on her debut album, Goldmine are inspired by Foehner.

Barrett sang many of her hits during her recent Sea World performance, including, “I Hope,” “Pick Me Up,” and “The Good Ones.” In addition, she covered Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” and Foehner joined her on guitar for a loving cover of Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s chart-topping duet, “Nobody But You.”

Additionally, Barrett is gearing up to hit the road with Jason Aldean on his headlining Rock N’ Roll Cowboy tour later this year. The 34-city trek will launch on July 15th in Scranton, PA. In addition to Barrett, the tour will also feature special guests John Morgan, and Dee Jay Silver.
