Jake Hoot recently put his own unique, comical spin on a cover of Walker Hayes‘ chart-topping hit, “Fancy Like.”

The season 17 winner of The Voice from Team Kelly reimagined the song for allergy season and made it that much more relatable for everyone who is sick of dealing with pollen this Spring.

Hoot posted the video to his TikTok account and dubbed the tune, “The ultimate ALLERGY song 🌻.”

“Honey, are you feeling okay?” Hoot’s wife Brittney asked him off-camera in the video. The camera then panned over to Hoot, who was lying on the couch covered with a blanket and surrounded by tissues.

“These allergies are killing me,” he responded, which prompted Brittney to suggest that he write a song about allergies using the melody of Hayes’ GRAMMY-nominated hit, “Fancy Like.”

“Come on,” Hoot shook his head before the melody to “Fancy Like” began playing and he launched into his re-imagined version of the tune.

It’s so amazin’ / this pollination / has got me Sneezy nose runnin’ and drainin’ / I’m feeling stuffy / pass me the puffies / this yellow dust in the air has got me yucky / but every now and then I hock a loogie / ‘cause I can’t stand keeping in the boogies / yeah, I’m sneezin’ like allergies and I’m coughin’ / got some Claritin and the pills are poppin’ / I got a Netty, and some hot tea too / essential oils smellin’ up every bedroom / promise I’m not at all contagious, but this snot that I’m producing is outrageous / Ya, I love smellin’ flowers just as much as the next guy / hey, and that’s why I’m sneezing like…,” Hoot sang on the first verse.

Hoot’s video quickly went viral with over 1.5 million views, prompting fans to beg him for a second verse and he more than delivered.

“Hey honey, the people loved your allergy version of ‘Fancy Like,’ do you think you could give them a verse two?” Hoot’s wife Brittney asked him in a follow-up video where they’re in the car. The melody to “Fancy Like” poured out of the car’s speakers before Hoot went for round two.

“I’m closin’ windows, cause when the wind blows / It’s like World War Three in my nose holes / I got a mask on, to mow the front lawn / and when I sleep I can’t breathe worth a ‘Dad gum’ / I really need these bees to step up their game / and get this pollen out of my airwaves,” Hoot sang on the second verse.

Hoot also shared the video of the song on his Instagram account as a reel, which got the attention of allergy brand, Claritin.

“We love this 😂💙🌼,” they wrote in the comments.

A country singer from Cookeville, Tennessee, Hoot got a chair turn from Kelly Clarkson during his Voice blind audition singing Luke Combs’ “When It Rains It Pours.” Since being named the season 17 victor, Hoot teamed up with his former coach for a duet, “I Would’ve Loved You” and released an EP called Love Out Of Time.

In addition, Hoot married his now-wife Brittney in March 2021. Earlier this year, Hoot shared that he and Brittney were expecting their first child together. Hoot also has a six-year-old daughter, Macy from a previous relationship.

Additionally, Hoot is gearing up to release a brand-new duet with Bri Fletcher.

The duet, which is called “There’s Still Tomorrow,” is set to be released on Friday, April 29.
