During an interview with Rolling Stone, Lambert gushed over Wilson saying she is one of the up-and-coming artists that she’s most excited about.

“Lainey Wilson is great. She’s a new female artist on the country scene, and I think she is so badass,” Lambert gushed.

Wilson also expressed her love for Lambert during an interview with Audacy’s Katie & Company, and even shared some advice she’s received from the “If I Was a Cowboy” singer.

“I’ve gotten a lot of advice from Miranda Lambert… Over this past year, she has really taken me under her wing. Any question, she’s just like, ‘Lainey, there’s no stupid question. Just ask whatever,’” Wilson explained. “She has just given me that extra confidence, peace of mind, whatever it might be that I need that day to keep on going and to hear it from somebody first hand who has literally been through it all, who has seen it all, done it all, I just trust and I value her opinion.”

Earlier this year, Lambert shared a tear-jerking moment with Wilson as she surprised her with her first-ever ACM Award for New Female Artist Of The Year. Ahead of the 57th Academy Of Country Music Awards, the singer-songwriters jumped on a Zoom call and unexpectedly saw Lambert on the screen.

“This ain’t what I thought it was,” Wilson said laughing. “I thought I was about to do an interview with some people in Vegas.”

“Well, I called to tell you some news, you my friend are the winner of the New Female Artist at the ACM Awards this year,” Lambert shared with a smile on her face. “I could not be happier, you’re going to make me cry, because I’m so happy for you.”

As she sat there in shock, Wilson finally said “Holy shit!”

“If there’s anybody who understands the freakin’ blood, sweat and tears, it’s you,” she added as she cried happy tears.

“I’m so proud of you and when they called yesterday, I was like hell yeah,” Lambert exclaimed, which Wilson added, “I’m so glad it’s you like oh my god!”

“I’m so happy for you, it’s awesome, you so deserve it honey,” Lambert said to the Platinum-selling singer. “You’re my fave and I love getting to be friends with you and when I heard that yesterday, I was like this is so good. It made my heart happy.”

While Lambert could not attend the actual show, she received some exciting news of her own that night when she was virtually crowned this year’s Entertainer of the Year

Starting on September 23, Lambert will begin her Las Vegas Residency called Velvet Rodeo. Her shows will take place at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino’s Zappos Theater for a run of 24 shows.

Meanwhile, as Wilson continues to bask in the glory of her chart-topping duet with Cole Swindell, “Never Say Never,” it was recently announced that she is among the star-studded lineup for this year’s CMA Fest in Nashville on Friday, June 10.
