Jake Hoot released his heart wrenching new duet “I Would’ve Loved You” on January 27 and now he’s unveiling the music video for the powerful track. The emotion-filled duet features Hoot’s coach from his triumphant season of The VoiceKelly Clarkson.

From backstage, side stage to front of house, the music video finds Hoot and Clarkson wandering around the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. The clip brings the heartstring pulling story to life in an elegant setting with a flawless visual that is perfect for the track, while putting both of their powerhouse vocals on full display center stage.

“More than forever, always, madly / the deepest, unforgettable / With all that I am / with my heart wide open / for the rest of my life I promise you / I’m gonna hate you as long and as much as I would’ve loved you/ And I would’ve loved you,” Hoot and Clarkson sing during the chorus.

Watch the brand new music video for the hit duet below.

“I can honestly say that when we went out to shoot the music video for ‘I Would’ve Loved You,’ everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, went so perfect!” Hoot previously shared about the video shoot. “From the venue, Jack Schurman and the camera crew, to working with Kelly Clarkson and her team, Taylor Ballantyne making magic, and all of us being in the same place for a lot of hours, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! I really believe that y’all will see how much we enjoyed making this video, and that it’ll show through our performances!”

“I Would’ve Loved You” was co-written by Hoot alongside Dean Sams (Lonestar) and Jamie Floyd. Once he wrote the song, he immediately knew that Clarkson would be the perfect pairing for the collaboration. You can read the full story on how the song came to be HERE.

“I Would’ve Loved You is a song about how the choices we make and the consequences that follow,” Hoot explained of the collaboration. “It is a story about someone who has so much love to give, but due to the other person’s decisions, that love turns into a hate that lasts forever. I am so honored to have written this song with Jamie Floyd and Dean Sams, who are both incredible writers. I am beyond thankful to Kelly Clarkson for believing in me and recording this song with me! Can’t wait for y’all to hear it!“

The track appears as the lead single from Hoot’s just-released his EP, Love Out Of Time, which is available now, HERE.
