The 2024 CMT Music Awards are upon us! The fan-voted awards show will air live from the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, for the second consecutive year on Sunday, April 7 at 8/7c on CBS.
Hosted by Kelsea Ballerini, the 2024 CMT Music Awards will deliver three hours of performances and one-of-a-kind collaborations.

Who Is The Host?
Kelsea Ballerini is set to host this year’s show. This year marks Ballerini’s fourth consecutive year hosting the CMT Music Awards, but her first time hosting it on her own. She previously co-hosted alongside country superstar Kane Brown and actor Anthony Mackie.
“I mean, fourth time’s a charm, right? I’m excited,” Ballerini shared in an interview with CMT. “And it’s my first time hosting solo, so send me the good vibes. I love hosting. I love being involved in the show and seeing it come together and knowing the performances and the collaborations and all the magic that’s going to happen on that stage that year.”

Brooks & Dunn, Lainey Wilson, Sammy Hagar and more are set to pay tribute to the late Toby Keith during the 2024 CMT Music Awards.
The tribute promises an all-star lineup that includes one-of-a-kind performances from Brooks & Dunn, Lainey Wilson, Sammy Hagar, all backed by Toby Keith’s longtime band, with special appearances by Lukas Nelson and Roger Clemens.

Who Are The Nominees?
Cody Johnson, Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, Kelsea Ballerini and Megan Moroney are among the most nominated artists at the 2024 CMT Music Awards with three nominations each.
CMT also revealed the 6 finalists vying for the night’s most-coveted Video Of The Year award, presented by Hilton. The final six nominees, include Ashley McBryde (“Light On In the Kitchen”), Cody Johnson (“The Painter”), HARDY (“Truck Bed”), Jelly Roll (“Need A Favor”), Kelsea Ballerini (“IF YOU GO DOWN, I’M GOIN’ DOWN TOO”) and Lainey Wilson (“Watermelon Moonshine”). Voting is still open for the Video Of The Year category, vote for the video you think should win at Vote.CMT.com.
The nominations also feature 14 first-time nominees, including breakthrough artists to out-of-genre superstars. Amber Riley, Ashley Cooke, Bret Michaels, Chayce Beckham, Hozier, Koe Wetzel, Stephen Wilson Jr., Tyler Childers, Warren Zeiders, Zach Bryan, as well as four members of the 2024 CMT Next Women of Country: Anne Wilson, Ella Langley, The Castellows, and Tigirlily Gold (2x) are among those nominated for the first time.

Who Is the Recipient Of The June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award?
Country music icon Trisha Yearwood will receive the inaugural June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award.
“We are thrilled to honor the incomparable Trisha Yearwood with the inaugural June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award at this year’s show,” the CMT Music Awards Executive Producers shared.
The show’s producers continued, “Trisha has a unique ability to rally a community, whether that may be families in need with Habitat for Humanity, or uplifting her fellow artists and entertainers trying to carve a path in the industry. She embodies the bold strength of June, who tirelessly devoted herself to service and community, and the namesake for this award. Both multi-hyphenate trailblazers eloquently crafted a script for others to model, letting their hearts and authenticity guide their personal, professional and public lives.”
“I am humbled to be receiving the inaugural June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award at the 2024 #CMTAwards,” Yearwood shared on Instagram.
According to a press release, the award, inspired by June Carter Cash, “recognizes an artist, duo/group or industry veteran who demonstrates an exceptional dedication to community and their fellow artists, embodying June’s spirit as a fierce advocate and initiator in paying it forward, helping others find their voice and using their platform to inspire and uplift others.”
