Kelsea Ballerini is gearing up to host the 2024 CMT Music Awards and is now opening up about her upcoming role as a solo host. This year marks Ballerini’s fourth consecutive year hosting the CMT Music Awards, but her first time hosting it on her own. She previously co-hosted alongside country superstar Kane Brown and actor Anthony Mackie.

Kelsea Ballerini Is Hosting The CMT Music Awards For The Fourth Consecutive Year

“I mean, fourth time’s a charm, right? I’m excited,” Ballerini shared in an interview with CMT. “And it’s my first time hosting solo, so send me the good vibes.”

Ballerini went on to elaborate on what she enjoys most about being the host of the show, saying, “I love hosting. I love being involved in the show and seeing it come together and knowing the performances and the collaborations and all the magic that’s going to happen on that stage that year.”

The country superstar then detailed what makes hosting the show so special, explaining that she loves that she get to be “really hyper involved” with every detail of the show.

“Whether it comes to the jokes that we open the show with or how we get to present some of my friends. I can tell stories or being able to be backstage when my friends win and I get to be there to hug them. All those moments really matter to me, so it’s nice to be able to get that into it,” Ballerini continued.

Ballerini Enjoys That The Show Is Taking Place In Austin, Texas

Kelsea Ballerini also appreciates that the show is returning to Austin, Texas, for the second year in a row.

“I loved the show in Austin last year. I feel like it was just like a new breath of life into the CMT Awards,” the 30-year-old singer/songwriter admitted. “Austin is a city that celebrates the arts and specifically country music. And to be able to move it to a city like that and have it there again, that has such a landscape for that. It just feels new, but it also feels like, of course it’s there.”

Reveals Why Fans Should Tune In

The Black River Entertainment recording artist then revealed what sets the CMT Music Awards apart from other award shows.

“CMT awards, there’s just an element of celebration, and it’s a little lighter and fun. It’s really fun. It’s about the fans, it’s about the music. You’re seeing legends, you’re seeing new artists, you’re seeing everything in between, and there’s just a through line of fun and celebration.”

Ballerini also encouraged fans to tune into for a star-studded list of performances, collaborations and more. “Everyone should tune in because it’s going to be great. You’re going to see collaborations [and] you’re going to see your favorite artists [and] you’re probably going to discover a new artist that maybe you don’t know yet. You’re going to see some fashion moments [and] you’re going to see big hair and sequins, and you’re going to see me.”
