Kelsea Ballerini is praising Tigirlily Gold’s “I Tried A Ring On.” During a recent video interview promoting the 2024 CMT Music Awards, Ballerini was asked if there were any songs or artists that have impacted her over the past year, to which she called out Tigirlily Gold’s latest single.

Kelsea Ballerini Is A Big Fan Of Tigirlily Gold, Hailey Whitters And More

“There is a song that I just heard that came out, I think, recently from Tigirlily [Gold] called ‘I Tried A Ring On.’ That is crazy. So good. So beautiful,” Ballerini shared. She then went on to specifically call out a few other favorites that have been added to her playlist this year.

Ballerini gushed over Hailey Whitters’ song “I’m In Love,” calling it “so good.” She even admitted that she can’t stop listening to Noah Kahan’s latest album, Stick Season, and that SZA’s tunes have also been on repeat.

“I Tried A Ring On” By Tigirlily Gold

Tigirlily Gold’s “I Tried A Ring On” made its debut on January 5th, and quickly garnered over half a million streams within its first week. The tune, co-written by sisters Krista and Kendra Slaubaugh alongside Pete Good and Josh Jenkins, draws inspiration from their personal experiences of heartbreak. Produced by Pete Good, “I Tried A Ring On” conveys a poignant narrative about the illusion of love and the sobering aftermath of shattered expectations.

“We were noticing how many of the breakup songs in country music talk about how hard it is to get over someone, but another extremely hard part of heartbreak that not a lot of people talk about is the gut-wrenching feeling of having to start over again when you truly thought you had forever with someone,” Tigirlily Gold said of the tune in a press release. “‘I Tried A Ring On’ tells that side of the story, and we are excited for people to discover this whole other side of who we are as writers and as artists.”

With its storytelling lyrics and the duo’s soothing harmonies, the tune is destined to resonate with millions of fans and quickly become their first-ever chart-topping hit.

Song Made A Major Impact At Country Radio

The track was later introduced to Country radio on January 22 and was among the most-added songs upon impact, receiving 47 first-week adds.

“We are so grateful country radio has embraced ‘I Tried a Ring On’ right off the bat,” the duo previously said in a press release. “We believe in this song so much and its ability to empower people going through heartbreak [and] we can’t wait to see where this song takes us.”

“I Tried A Ring On” follows the success of their Top 40 hit, “Shoot Tequila,” which has amassed over 45 million streams to-date.
