Walker Hayes’ latest single “Y’all Life” is most-added at Country radio!
On Monday (Aug. 1), the Alabama native’s single debuted at Country Radio as the most added song of the week, with 76 first week stations on the track.
“We’ve been at this a long time, and I’ve never had this many stations add one of my songs on day one,” Hayes shared. “Thanks to my team for busting it out there and thank you to all the stations spinning my songs. If your local station is on the song, give ‘em a shout!”
Hayes co-wrote “Y’all Life” with Pete Good and Josh Jenkins with additional songwriting credits to “Country Grammar” writers Cornell Haynes Jr. (Nelly) and Jason Epperson. Hayes co-produced the track with “Fancy Like” collaborator Joe Thibodeau, and multi-GRAMMY Award winner Shane McAnally.
The infectious bop celebrates life in the South – from “football and Jesus” to “mama’s sweet tea” and everything in between.
“We be livin’ that y’all life, y’all / Rollin’ in the South / Where it’s all football and Jesus (Jesus) / Barbershop talking like nah / Shut your mouth, my mama’s sweet tea’s the sweetest,” Hayes sings on the track’s chorus.
“Y’all Life” marks Hayes’ first new release since he released Country Stuff The Album earlier this year. The tune follows “AA” and his first-ever No. 1, “Fancy Like.”
Over the course of the last year, Hayes’ has had breakthrough success with “Fancy Like,” which earned him a GRAMMY nomination, six Billboard Music Award nominations, five ACM Award nods, and a CMT Music Award nomination.
Later this year, Hayes will embark on his first-ever arena tour, dubbed the Glad You’re Here tour.
“GLAD YOU’RE HERE ARENA TOUR… can’t frickin believe it,” Hayes wrote on Twitter. “It’s mind-blowing how our team is growing, how the crowds are growing and how the music continues to connect with my audience. I’m just so grateful.”
The 15-city trek, which features support from Parmalee, will kick off in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on September 29 and continue through November 12, where the tour will wrap up in Everett, Washington at Angel Of the Winds Arena.
