Summer may still be a couple of months away, but Tucker Wetmore is bringing the sun, sand, and beach vibes early for those who can’t wait any longer. The country star is turning up the heat with the release of his intoxicating new single entitled “Sunburn.”

Out today (Friday, March 13), this breezy track delivers an instant dose of warm-weather energy that will have listeners ready to roll the windows down and let the wind blow through their hair. From the very first seconds, the song sets the mood with ambient ocean waves and the gentle chirping of birds, instantly transporting listeners to a coastal escape before the instrumentation kicks in.

Light percussion, effervescent electric guitars, and a toe-tapping rhythm can be heard, creating a carefree sonic landscape that perfectly complements Wetmore’s soothing, warm, easygoing country vocals. The production feels relaxed yet vibrant, capturing the spirit of a spontaneous beachside romance and the kind of carefree nights that only seem to happen on vacation.

Lyrically, Wetmore paints a vivid, sun-soaked picture of a man who arrives at a tropical destination with no plans beyond enjoying some time away. However, the trip quickly takes an unexpected turn when he meets a stranger who sparks an instant connection. What begins as a casual encounter soon blossoms into a whirlwind romance filled with late nights, ocean views, and undeniable chemistry.

Throughout the song’s dreamy, sway-worthy chorus, Wetmore captures the intensity of that fleeting but unforgettable connection singing, “Them old two sheets we were under / Couldn’t tell you what room or number / All I know is I was falling in deeper / That door said ‘Do Not Disturb’ / Yeah, you hit me like a heat wave / We stayed up all night all day / Waves crashing outside like thunder / Your body on mine like a sunburn.”

The song, with its laid-back groove, offers a summery vibe that feels tailor-made for beach drives, bonfires, and late-night playlists as well as summertime concerts.

“Sunburn” arrives on the heels of an already impressive year for Wetmore. The rising country star is coming off a strong 2025, fueled by the success of his massive hit “Brunette,” which continues climbing up the charts and is rapidly approaching the Top 10 at country radio. Building even more momentum, having already surpassed two billion global streams, Wetmore recently announced an expanded run of dates for his Brunette World Tour.

The newly unveiled Brunette World Tour Pt. 2 will add 17 additional North American shows later this year, with stops in major markets including Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, and Las Vegas. Supporting acts on select dates of the trek include Maddox Batson, William Beckmann, George Birge, Braxton Keith, Jacob Hackworth, and Stella Lefty.

In addition, he will appear on select tour dates alongside major country acts, including HARDY and the legendary duo Brooks & Dunn.
