Scotty McCreery and his wife Gabi McCreery recently announced that they are expecting their first child together. In addition to becoming a father this fall, the country hitmaker revealed that he has a number of exciting things going on within his career at the moment.
“We’re busy right now, we’re on the road a lot and playing shows and kind of starting on the new record already. So, everything is moving in a good direction. Everything’s all good here,” he shared during an interview with the Skip Happens Podcast.
The North Carolina native is no stranger to writing music that aligns with the different chapters of his life. His fifth studio album, Same Truck, covers just about everything as he reflects on his influences growing up in “Damn Strait“, to his love story with Gabi and how far he’s come in his career.
Now that McCreery’s going to be stepping into a whole new role as a father, he expects to have plenty of fresh ideas to bring into the studio with him.
“Luckily for me, I think I’m gonna have a lot more material to write about here in the next few months,” he told Audacy’s Katie Neal. “Written a lot of love songs. I’ve written a lot of life songs. I have never written a baby song before. So that’ll be a first, it’ll be exciting.”
His dedicated fans took to the comments to say congratulations and share their anticipation for the new crop of music he teased.
“Wish him all the success in the world…he sure deserves it,” one user wrote.
The longtime lovebirds have been by each other’s sides since they were kids and finally tied the knot in 2018 after dating for six years. They took the time to have some fun, make memories and adjust to married life, but things are about to look different in the McCreery household.
They shared the news of the pregnancy exclusively with People through a series of adorable photos highlighting Gabi’s bump, the ultrasound images and their son’s first pair of little cowboy boots.
“Just sharing a few more of our fave new fam pics,” Gabi said alongside the additional photos she posted to social media. “Feeling very blessed and thankful for all the kind words this week! We can’t wait to share our little man with y’all.”
Their dog, moose even got to be a part of the photoshoot. Sporting his handsome blue bandana, their four-legged family member was seen smiling in the photos that were shared on all three of their social media pages. Moose’s popular Instagram page featured two of the images with the caption, “Excited to be a big brother!”
Scotty McCreery kicked off the new year with his Same Truck Tour that took him throughout the U.S. and even a few shows abroad for the festival, C2C. By the looks of it, he will end 2022 just as busy as he started it, but this time it’ll be his little one keeping him occupied.
McCreery is set to perform this weekend in Norman, OK (July 30).
