Morgan Wallen launched a new acoustic series, dubbed The Shop Sessions, where the 31-year-old country superstar will deliver performances of songs from his new album, I’m The Problem, with minimal production.
The East Tennessee native surprised fans with the stripped down versions of “Just In Case” and “I’m The Problem” as part of the acoustic YouTube series. Directed by longtime collaborator Justin Clough and filmed earlier this year, the clips feature Wallen delivering laid back performances of the fan-favorite hits, likely while preparing for his upcoming headlining tour I’m The Problem Tour.

In the new videos, you can see Morgan Wallen performing the new track in an old, empty auto shop, alongside his full band that includes Mark Taco Annino, Luke Cowboy Rice, Tyler Tomlinson, Dominic Frost, Chris Gladden and Tony Aichele.
“Found a badass old auto shop and recorded some songs from the new album with my band,” he wrote when he released the first video earlier this month.

“Just In Case”
Written by Wallen alongside John Byron, Jacob Kasher Hindlin, Ryan Vojtesak, Josh Thompson, Blake Pendergrass and Alex Bak, “Just In Case” is an honest confession from a man who is holding out hope to return to a relationship that didn’t work out the first time. Hesitant to move on with someone new, Wallen has no intention of getting to the next level with anyone romantically, rather yearns to go back to an old flame.
“I never let my heart go all the way/ Every time I try, I just hit the brakes/ And there’s always a couple tryna take your place/ But I never fall in love, baby, just in case/ You wake up wantin’ me out of the blue/ You lay down needin’ what I used to do/ Yeah, every now and then, I go get a taste/ But I never fall in love, baby, just in case/ Just in case,” Wallen sings throughout the soft country chorus.
“I’m The Problem”
Co-written by Wallen alongside Grady Block, Jamie McLaughlin, Ernest Keith Smith (ERNEST) and Ryan Vojtesak, “I’m The Problem” captures a turbulent relationship and finds Wallen reflecting on a breakup, where the demise of the relationship was blamed on him. In the song, Wallen questions why his ex fell in love with him in the first place if he is such a “problem” while also pointing out her flaws.
“I guess I’m the problem/ And you’re Ms. “Never Do No Wrong”/ If I’m so awful/ Then why’d you stick around this long?/ And if it’s the whiskey/ Then why you keep on pullin’ it off the shelf?/ You hate that when you look at me, you halfway see yourself/ And it got me thinkin’/ If I’m the problem, well, you might be the reason,” Wallen sings on the track’s chorus.
With each album cycle, Morgan Wallen records unplugged versions of his new songs to build excitement around his latest releases. In the past, he’s shared the One Record At A Time Sessions in honor of his 2022 album, One Thing At A Time, Dangerous Sessions to celebrate the release of his sophomore project, Dangerous: The Double Album, and the Abbey Road Sessions to commemorate the one-year anniversary of his record-breaking album, One Thing At A Time.
New Album, I’m The Problem
The Shop Sessions come in celebration of his forthcoming fourth studio album, I’m The Problem, which will arrive on May 16 via Big Loud/Mercury. The 37-track project, produced by Joey Moi and Charlie Handsome, will include the previously released tracks “Love Somebody,” “Smile,” “Lies Lies Lies” “Just In Case,” “I’m A Little Crazy” “I Ain’t Comin’ Back (feat. Post Malone), “I’m The Problem” as well as “Superman” and “Come Back As A Redneck (feat. HARDY),” two songs Wallen teased but has yet to release. Wallen co-wrote 22 of the 37 songs.
I’m The Problem will also feature collaborations with the reigning CMA Entertainer Of The Year’s musical hero Eric Church, Post Malone, Tate McRae, as well as his longtime friends and frequent collaborators HARDY and Ernest.
