Morgan Wallen is celebrating the one-year anniversary of his record-breaking album, One Thing At A Time, with the release of Abbey Road Sessions.

Exactly one year ago (on March 3, 2023), Morgan Wallen dropped his third studio album, One Thing At A Time. The project went on to claim the top spot on the Billboard Top 200 chart for 18 non-consecutive weeks, tying Garth Brooks’ 1991 Ropin’ the Wind record with the most weeks at No. 1 for a country album and becoming the most-streamed album of the year, all genres, on Spotify.

In celebration of its one-year anniversary, Wallen unveiled the seven-song digital series, which includes five live recordings of Wallen’s favorites tracks from One Thing At A Time, a never-before-recorded cover of Nothing But Thieves’ “Graveyard Whistling” as well as an unreleased fan favorite, “Lies Lies Lies.”

Surprise Release: Abbey Road Sessions

On Sunday (Mar. 3), the country superstar surprised fans with a seven-track digital release, which was recorded in the iconic Studio Two at the world-renowned Abbey Road Studios in London on December 5, 2023.

“Playing the O2 in London last fall and getting to record at Abbey Road, where so much iconic music has been made, was legendary for me and my band. We will never forget it,” Wallen shared of his trip overseas that included a sold-out show at the O2 for his first-time playing London. “I’m so excited to release these Abbey Road Sessions for my fans on the one-year anniversary of One Thing At A Time. Features One Brand New Song, “Lies Lies Lies”

Wallen first teased “Lies Lies Lies” during an industry-only event at the Soho House in Nashville last month. After a video of Wallen performing the new song surfaced online, it sent fans into a frenzy, who begged for the track’s release. Now, the track is officially out on all streaming platforms as part of the Abbey Road Sessions.

“Ain’t nothing but / Lies lies lies / Look into my eyes, eyes, eyes / I’m still a fool for you / Nothing I wouldn’t do for you / Lies lies lies / Girl, I’m on a downhill dive / Having some hard, hard breaks / Some hearts to break / So I just tell the same old / Lies lies lies,” Wallen sings on the track’s chorus.

Working On His New Album

Additionally, Morgan Wallen is currently working on his yet-to-be announced fourth studio album, which will serve as the follow-up to One Thing At A Time. He revealed on that he is working on his new album, during an interview with Billboard. While chatting with the outlet, the 30-year-old country hitmaker shared that he is currently “writing and reviewing” songs for album 4.

“I Guess”

He recently gave fans a taste of what’s to come on the project with a snippet of an unreleased new song, titled “I Guess.” He shared a clip of the new tune on his Instagram Friday, January 12. The post featured a work tape of an acoustic track that finds the East Tennessee native reflecting on a breakup, where the demise of the relationship was blamed on him. In the song, Wallen questions why his ex fell in love with him in the first place if he is such a “problem” while also pointing out her flaws.

As the tune continues, he then recalls the dynamics of the romance and wonders if he is truly the reason for the breakup, or if his ex-lover played a larger role in the challenges that ultimately ended their relationship.

“I Had Some Help”

In late December 2023, Wallen shared a demo of an unreleased new song, titled “I Had Some Help,” which he co-wrote with Post Malone as well as frequent collaborators ERNEST and Charlie Handsome.

The post, which has since been deleted, featured a work tape of a hip-hip inspired track that finds Wallen singing about a breakup that was blamed on him. However, as the song progresses, he realizes that it wasn’t all his fault and that he “had some help” from his ex-lover, and they share equal blame in the demise of their relationship.
