Morgan Wallen Donates $25,000 To Tennessee Wildfire Relief, Feeds Thousands Of First Responders

Morgan Wallen is giving back to his neighbors in Tennessee after wildfires have burned over 3,000 acres near the Great Smokey Mountains and Sevier County, which forced thousands of nearby residents out of their homes.

The East Tennessee native and his More Than My Hometown Foundation recently donated $25,000 to Greater Good Music to assist in wildfire disaster relief efforts. The donation provided hot meals for relief workers, mobile food pantries, clothing, and supplies for the communities in the fire zone near his hometown.

“We are so grateful to Morgan for helping us provide hot meals to firefighters and first responders in the fire zone, as well as assist families that have been displaced and in need of food, clothing, and supplies in the coming days,” said Sheila Jones, executive director of Greater Good Music.

Several hundred firefighters from around the state of Tennessee also pitched in to offer help in fighting the two fast-moving wildfires fueled by high winds and dry conditions near Pigeon Forge and Sevierville, Tennessee.

“Just wanted to say thanks again to your crew, Morgan, and his foundation for working with us to help wildfire relief efforts in Tennessee,” Jones later added. “Because of your support, this weekend, we were able to quickly team up with Operation BBQ Relief to serve 2400 warm meals to firefighters and first responders from 400 different agencies from across Tennessee who were staged at Pigeon Forge High School.”

Wallen’s generous donation provided each firefighter fighting the raging wildfires with lunch and dinner as well as hydration from Saturday, April 2, through today.

While the fires have affected at least 300 structures and are now 95% contained, the community still has a long way to go to recover from the fires that resulted in the loss of personal property and more. Greater Good Music is an organization that unites music artists and volunteers working on the ground to help communities in need on concert tours and in disaster zones around the U.S. The organization also turns a normal concert day into a day of giving by working with music artists and food banks to organize mobile food distributions before showtime on country, rock, and pop concert tours around the nation. The organization also partners with the music industry to deliver food and supplies to disaster areas.

Recently, Wallen also raised $120,000 for his More Than My Hometown Foundation. The money, which was raised for his foundation via his three consecutive sold-out concerts in Nashville, will be put into initiatives for adolescent development, resources and local communities.

Founded by Wallen in 2021, the More Than My Hometown Foundation came about from his own family’s experience.

“Since my parents fostered and now officially adopted my sister Lacey, I’ve witnessed what love and care can do for a child that didn’t have it before. She has transformed into a confident, trusting and happy kid,” Wallen shared. “There are many elements that aid in the development and protection of an adolescent’s life, and that is why I created the foundation, so a child’s resources are not limited due to their circumstances.”
