Luke Combs gave an update on his forthcoming, yet-to-be announced third studio album.

On Thursday morning (Mar. 3), a fan named Alex Breton randomly tweeted Combs, asking him “How are those final touches on LC3 coming along, @lukecombs?” The country superstar couldn’t help but to reply and keep fans on the edge of the seats as they await the release of his highly-anticipated new project.

“We’re right at the finish line on em,” Combs said in response to Breton, before adding, “I’m real proud of these tunes. Can’t wait for y’all to hear em.”

Combs, who recently revealed he is expecting his first child with his wife Nicole, officially began working on the forthcoming project in early March 2021. And while he hasn’t shared an official release date for LC3 yet, Combs promised fans that the new album “is gonna be real good” and worth the wait, as he continues to tease fans with frequent updates throughout social media.

While chatting with Bobby Bones on The Bobby Bones Show in late June 2021, the “Doin’ This” singer revealed that he hopes to release the new album sometime in the fall of 2022.

“I mean, I’m going into the studio one more time. We should be done… by then I think we’re going in this month, I mean I guess it’s June now and so we’re going in this month to do some more stuff,” Combs told Bones at the time. “Once we get all those sorted, I don’t fall probably, I would hope. I guess it all just depends on some strategy involved in that release date, but I think it’s probably fall I would hope.”

Not only has the chart-topping hitmaker kept fans updated with the progress of his album, but he has also shared some songs that could potentially make the project, including songs such as “Tomorrow Me,” “See Me Now,” “Ever Mine,” “Five Leaf Clover,” “We Still Drink Beer,” “Good Ol’ Days” and many more.

Combs’ upcoming new record will be the follow-up to his chart-topping, multi-Platinum 2019 album, What You See Is What You Get, and the 2020 deluxe edition of that dubbed, What You See Ain’t Always What You Get.

Just a few weeks ago, Combs and his wife, Nicole, took to social media to announce that they are expecting their first child together.

“Here we go y’all! Lil dude Combs is coming this Spring!” Combs captioned a photo of him and his wife holding a sonogram. “Couldn’t be more excited to start a family with this babe. It’s gonna be a hell of a ride @nicolejcombs

The couple have already begun to shop for their new bundle of joy’s nursery and Combs recently admitted that it’s been a “learning” process for him as he learns what certain baby items are. For example a bassinet, which the North Carolina native said he didn’t even know what one was before purchasing it.

While he admits he is “a little nervous” about becoming a dad, he also shared that he and his wife are both very “excited” to become parents to their first child, a baby boy.

Just as Combs has to anxiously await the arrival of his first child, fans will have to wait just a little while longer for the details of his third studio album.
