Kane Brown brought his new single “Like I Love Country Music” to life on Tuesday (May 24) with the release of his new music video.
Directed by Alex Alvga, the clip begins as Brown arrives at The Nashville Palace, a live music venue in Music City that first opened in 1977 where dozens of country music icons have graced the stage, including Johnny Cash, Alan Jackson, Randy Travis, George Jones and more.
The Chattanooga native quickly takes to the famous stage, wearing a black cowboy hat, black leather pants (complete with a belt buckle) and sleeveless shirt, to perform the tune for the rowdy bar crowd.
Brown then joins the bar goers for a choreographed line dance, which is destined to quickly take TikTok by storm as a new viral dance trend.
Throughout the clip, Brown showcases another side of himself that is not often seen, as he dances and sings along to the fast-rising country single.
The clip ends with some hilarious outtakes from the set of the music video, giving fans a taste of Brown’s playful personality.
“Like I Love Country Music” was released earlier this month and made a massive impact upon its debut at country with 126 first-week station adds, a career high for the country superstar.
Brown co-wrote the high-octane tune alongside Jordan Schmidt, Taylor Phillips, and Matt McGinn.
Tinged with ‘90s country elements, including a fiddle, “Like I Love Country Music” finds Brown name-dropping the likes of country greats such as Alan Jackson, Willie Nelson, George Jones, Johnny Cash, and June Carter Cash.
“You get me high as Willie, girl/ You get me gone as Jones/ You turn me on as much as I turn on my radio/ Let’s take our time, walk the line/ Kinda like Johnny and June did/ Yeah, let’s do this/ Baby, I love you/ like I love country music,” he sings.
Special guests Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn of Brooks & Dunn lent their voices to the track.
“They both jumped on it,” Brown confirmed to Country Now with a smile. “Ronnie does ‘Brand New Man’ and Kix sings, ‘I love country music,’ the little tag.”
While the duo isn’t credited as a feature on the track, Brown says that their participation speaks volumes about who they are as people and artists.
“That’s what’s cool about it. They came into the studio and took their time for one line apiece. It’s not even a feature, but they came in. For artists to come into a studio and do something, technically, you want to be a feature. You want to have a whole verse or a whole chorus. So not only was that awesome of them to do that, but it’s so impactful in this song. I’ve realized that those are the two lines that I sing the most out of the song, so it’s cool.”
Additionally, Brown recently announced a massive international tour, dubbed the Drunk or Dreaming Tour. The trek will feature special guests Restless Road, Jessie James Decker, Blanco Brown and Chris Lane on select dates. Kicking off on September 17 in Melbourne, Australia, the tour will continue through Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK, and Europe.
The Drunk or Dreaming Tour marks Brown’s first time touring in Australia and New Zealand, and his long-awaited return to Canada and Europe.
