Steven Tyler, 74, has struggled with his sobriety for quite some time and recently relapsed, forcing Aerosmith to cancel the band’s upcoming run of shows in Las Vegas.
The iconic Rock group shared the news with fans via social media on Tuesday (May 24), revealing that recovering from a recent surgery caused him to relapse. The group said that Tyler he has since entered a rehab facility.
“As many of you know, our beloved brother Steven has worked on his sobriety for many years. After foot surgery to prepare for the stage and the necessity of pain management during the process, he has recently relapsed and voluntarily entered a treatment program to concentrate on his health and recovery.”

Tyler’s relapse forced Aerosmith to abruptly cancel several of their upcoming Las Vegas residency tour dates this summer while the “Dream On” singer focuses on his health.
“We are truly sorry to inform our fans and friends that we must cancel our first set of Las Vegas Residency dates this June and July while he focuses on his well-being,” the band continued. “We will continue our 2022 dates starting in September, and we’ll let you know any further updates as soon as we can. We are devastated that we have inconvenienced so many of you, especially our most loyal fans who often travel great distances to experience our shows.”
The group went on to thank fans for their endless support and for understanding the difficult situation.
Tickets for the June and July Las Vegas residency dates, which were set to kick off on June 7 at Park MGM’s Dolby Live, will be refunded at the point of purchase via Ticketmaster.
