Kane Brown recently revealed that he and wife, Katelyn will be singing a duet together on his new album. Brown stopped by The Bobby Bones Show on May 6 to discuss his new music, including the duet with Katelyn.
“A few weeks ago, you said your wife Katelyn might be singing on your next album. Where does that stand as of right now?” Bones asked the “Like I Love Country Music” singer.
“She’s on it!,” Brown said. “I think she’s like the fifth song on the album. She’s got a whole verse and she’s singing the chorus with me,” he shared.
“Oh, she’s not even doing background vocals, she’s got a whole verse, that’s awesome!” Bones responded.
“Thanks man,” Brown said, adding that his wife was “killin’ it.”
Brown continued to say that Katelyn was nervous to record the song but that he and producer Dann Huff were able to calm her down.
“She was nervous, but it was just me, her and Dann [Huff]. I told her he’s great and he’s very comforting and she went in and she had no reason to be nervous first of all, but she was… Dann calmed her down and I don’t know if we’re going to use the video or not, but the video footage we got, I’m dancing in the other room through the glass to calm her down and then she starts having fun,” he explained.
Brown first shared that he and his wife had plans to duet on his next album back in 2021 during a Twitch livestream. He said the duet he and wife Katelyn will be singing is called “Mad At This World” and that he was “excited” about it.
In addition, Brown shared that the song was “beautifully written” and “immediately caught” he and wife Katelyn’s attention, so they knew it was “perfect” for them. The song tells the story of Brown and his wife’s relationship.
Back in mid-March, Brown revealed that his new album was done and should be released “sometime this year.” Brown’s new album is a follow-up to Mixtape Vol. 1, which was released in 2020 and features tracks “Cool Again,” “Worship You,” and “Be Like That.”
While fans wait for Brown to drop his next album, they can enjoy his latest single, “Like I Love Country Music.”
The track impacted country radio on May 6 and has since become the No. 1 most added song, with 126 adds, making it a career high for Brown.
Brown will also be hitting the road with his Blessed & Free Tour as well as his Drunk Or Dreaming Tour in the fall.
