If you were to walk Downtown Nashville, you’d probably notice several establishments owned by country artists like Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Florida Georgia Line, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, among many others.

But, not all of them have been the subject of a hit song.

In late 2021, Jason Aldean’s popular Music City-based venue, Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar, caught attention on social media, thanks in part to Morgan Wallen’s viral hit, “Broadway Girls” with rapper Lil Durk.

Fans will recall, Wallen teased a snippet of the song on TikTok before its release. The tune, which focuses on meeting a girl at Aldean’s bar, went viral and even sparked a social media trend, where people would post videos of themselves dancing and hanging out in front of Aldean’s bar with the song playing in the background.

Jason Aldean Is Grateful For The “Shoutout” Morgan Wallen Gave His Bar In “Broadway Girls”

Aldean recently shared his reaction to having his bar name checked in the song, telling Music Mayhem that he is grateful for the “shoutout.”

“Hey, I love it, man. It’s good for business, you know what I mean? No, I loved it.” Aldean said in a recent interview. “I mean, [Wallen’s] manager, Seth [England], actually sent me that song right after they cut it and were getting ready to release it, and he was like, ‘Check this out. I think you’re going to like it,’ and so I listened to it, and obviously right off the bat, it namechecks us, and I just thought it was cool.”

“So, I texted Morgan and just told him that I love the song, and thanks for the shout-out, and then they went and filmed the whole video in my bar, which was great. So, overall it was so awesome,” he added.

Morgan Wallen Co-Wrote Two Songs On Jason Aldean’s Upcoming New Album

Aldean, of course, is gearing up to drop more music with the second installment of his two-part album, entitled Georgia. The entire record, titled Macon, Georgia, named after his hometown, is slated for release on April 22.

Wallen has co-written two tracks on the project – “The Sad Songs” and “Whiskey Me Away.” But this isn’t the first time he has shared credits on an Aldean tune. Wallen actually wrote the Georgia native’s 2018 smash, “You Make It Easy,” alongside FGL’s Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard and songwriter Jordan Schmidt.

“I didn’t really know much about Morgan at the time,” Aldean said, recalling the story of how he got his hands on “You Make It Easy.” “I knew he was kind of kicking around town, and he was a new artist. He had a little EP that had come out at the time, but he hadn’t really hit yet. He was still kind of an unknown artist, and they pitched me, ‘You Make it Easy.’”

“So, I cut this song, and then at the No. 1 party for that song is where I first met Morgan,” he shared. “Then, over the next year or so, he started getting a little more traction, and I took him out on tour with me. He opened up for us a couple of years ago and did about 20-30 dates with us. That’s where I really got to know him well. After that, it’s just like he writes a lot of songs, so obviously, he can only put so many on his own records. So anything he’s not cutting, sometimes they’ll send over to us, and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. And that’s kind of how we’ve gotten some of the songs that we’ve gotten. But the first one was, he was just, he was kind of an unknown artist that he was just still trying to get his feet wet here in town, and that was a thing he had written and we got our hands on it.”

Like the first installation, Georgia will include 10 new tracks and 5 live recordings of selected hits. Since releasing Macon in November of 2021, Aldean has already rolled out material from the second half of his double album leading up to its official release date. Those songs include “God Made Airplanes,” “Whiskey Me Away,” “My Weakness,” “Trouble With A Heartbreak,” and “Rock and Roll Cowboy.”

This summer, Aldean will launch his Rock N’ Roll Cowboy Tour. The 34-city trek, which includes direct support from Gabby Barrett, and openers Dee Jay Silver and newcomer John Morgan, will kick off on July 15 with a performance in Scranton, PA.
