Jason Aldean and his wife Brittany Aldean have officially released their highly-anticipated duet, “Easier Gone.” On Friday (Jan. 9), the country superstar and his wife dropped their first-ever collaboration, and fans are freaking out.
“Easier Gone,” co-written by Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood of Lady A alongside Jimmy Robbins and Josh Kerr, captures that gut-punch moment when you think you’re finally over someone, until they walk right back into your line of sight. The song finds the narrator blindsided by an ex at a bar, wishing they were “just another stranger” because seeing them again puts their freshly healed heart “in danger.” What once felt manageable suddenly isn’t, and the truth hits hard: moving on was only easy when they weren’t around.
“I wish I didn’t know your name/ Wish you were just another stranger/ So you walkin’ in this bar wouldn’t put my broken heart/ In danger,” Jason Aldean sings on the song’s first verse. The chorus then drives home the emotional twist, admitting that it was “easy to lie / to myself on a Friday night,” but impossible to ignore the feelings when you’re “face to face with how good you look moving on.”
“You were easier gone/ You were easier outta this town/ Hey, I almost had this lettin’ you go thing figured out/ Yeah, it was easy to lie/ To myself on a Friday night/ When I wasn’t face to face with how good you look moving on/ Yeah, you were easier gone,” the beloved country couple sing on the track’s chorus.

Jason Aldean recently opened up about the duet for the first time during a cover story interview with Nashville Lifestyles. While speaking with the Music City-based outlet, the 48-year-old country superstar explained why he didn’t rush into recording music with his wife and instead waited for the right song and timing. “Britt and I have been wanting to do something together for a while, but it’s like with anything, I just think it has to be the right song. It has to be the right timing,” Aldean shared, adding that he knew this was the perfect track for a duet and that it felt special from the moment he heard it.
Although Brittany Aldean once competed on American Idol, she isn’t a professional singer. That being said, Jason Aldean explained that he wanted to wait for the right moment to invite his wife Brittany to sing on a track with him. “She was nervous,” Aldean admitted. “Day one was just learning the process. Day two was magic.”
Jason Aldean went on to share what it was like for Brittany, stepping into the recording studio for the very first time. “She started to get nervous and sweaty,” Aldean continued. “It was weird because she’s never been to the studio or tried to cut a record or anything like that. The first day was her learning how it all goes. Then she went back in, knew what to expect, and just killed it.”
He also made it clear that he wouldn’t have invited his wife to record the song unless he truly believed it was the right fit for her. “I’m not going to put her in a position where it’s not good,” he added. “I told her, ‘If I tell you it’s good, you can trust me.’ And it turned out amazing. I’m excited for people to hear it.”

“Easier Gone” marks the first official duet between the husband-and-wife duo, and arrived alongside two other new songs: “Her Favorite Color” and “What’s A Little Heartache.” All three tracks will appear on Jason Aldean’s upcoming new album, Songs About Us, arriving on April 24 via Broken Bow Records/BBR Music Group. Produced by Michael Knox, Songs About Us will feature 20 tracks, including collaborations with his wife, Brittany, as well as Luke Bryan and “Dust On The Bottle” hitmaker David Lee Murphy.
“It means the world when one of my songs helps someone through a hard time—or celebrates their best moments,” Aldean shared in a statement. “This album is about all of that—the highs, the lows, and everything in between. Every track started with a real story or feeling, and together we turned those experiences into music. In the end, I realized this album is about all of us. These are songs about us.”

Jason Aldean will take his new project on the road with the previously announced the extension of his 2026 Full Throttle World Tour. Fans can visit www.JasonAldean.com for a full list of dates and more information.
