Kane Brown & Katelyn Brown

Country sweethearts Kane Brown and Katelyn Jae have quite the love story, which started with Brown’s first concert ever, followed by a year of living on a tour bus together before ever sharing their relationship publicly.

Now, the husband and wife have teamed up for a new single, “Thank God,” which Brown first previewed on Instagram with a glimpse into their recording in the studio.

“First teaser (Thank God) with my wife @katelynbrown ❤️” he captioned the clip. ”So excited 🔥 releasing this Friday with my album Different Man!!”

“I Thank God I get to wake up by your side / Thank God your hand fits perfectly in mine / Thank God you love me when you didn’t have to / but you did and you do / and he knew / Thank God for giving me you,” the couple sings on the chorus of the song.

In 2015, Kane and Katelyn had a missed connection. Katelyn was working on a music video set and was supposed to meet her through a producer she shared with Kane, but conflicting schedules got in the way. A year later, fate finally brought them together with a nudge from the same producer.

“We met down in Florida at my very first show ever, I believe it was in 2015,” Brown recalled in a conversation with Radio.com. “The day before that show, I was supposed to be in her music video because she was an artist as well, and it couldn’t happen because my show was the same day as the music video.”

Brown continued, “So a year goes by and the same guy we were working with brings her to a show, she didn’t want to come and he forced her basically. We met, we didn’t talk at all, I maybe said hey to her but I thought she was adorable and I kept looking at her all night. So I asked her to come to Nashville like the next day, I flew her down [to Nashville] and we just hit it off and she never left.”

The pair were joined at the hip, with Katelyn joining Kane in the cramped quarters of a tour bus in 2016. Katelyn recalled her experience with Taylor Magazine, saying, “He had one bus and there were 10 of us on it—all guys. Me and him shared a bunk, and if you’ve never been on a tour bus, then all you need to know is that they have tiny bunk beds! When we got in there, we were not moving for the night! We put our dog at the bottom of our bed and we did that for over a year.”

The couple kept their relationship out of the public eye until January of 2017, when Kane shared a heartfelt Facebook post: “I know a lot has been going good for me this past year, but being away from my family and friends, it’s been tough,” he wrote. “Luckily I found my other half.”

“I know a lot of people might get mad I’m in a relationship, but if you’re a true fan u won’t,” Brown added “She keeps me Sane, she keeps me happy, she’s my girl. God Bless. [sic]”

Just a few months later, Kane popped the big question in the most unusual way. He shared with People that he got too excited to wait until the next day, when he had a full-blown romantic, flowery proposal planned. So he proposed in the middle of watching a horror movie! Specifically, a movie about newlyweds who move into a house where a mass murder was committed – The Amityville Horror. In spite of the spooky setting, Katelyn still said “yes.”

The newly engaged couple walked their first red carpet together at the 2017 CMA Awards.

Kane gushed over his date on Instagram, sharing a sweet photo of the couple hanging out backstage with the caption, “Most supportive person in the world.”

Kane and Katelyn said “I do” on October 12, 2018, in a beautiful ceremony outside of Nashville with 200 of their closest family and friends. The couple told People that they had exchanged more personal letters that expressed what was in their hearts during the day before sticking to traditional wedding vows during the ceremony. Katelyn chose a classic gown, saying, “I didn’t want a ton of extra fabric; I wanted something sleek and simple and this fit the bill.”

Just days after their nuptials, Kane shared intimate scenes from the ceremony in his music video for “Good As You.”

The Brown family began to grow in 2019, with Kane announcing the pending arrival of their first child in April. “The KB’s ARE GONNA BE PARENTS!!! KB3,” he excitedly shared on Instagram.

In late October, the young couple became first-time parents to daughter Kingsley Rose, sharing the announcement with a sweet family photo.

The Browns surprised fans in a big way at the end of 2021 by announcing the birth of their second baby, Kodi Jane. “New year, new family member,” Kane shared on Instagram with a photo of him and Katelyn curled up in a hospital bed with baby Kodi. “Secret’s finally out!”

Kane and Katelyn’s duet “Thank God” appears on Kane’s album Different Man, which follows his second studio album Experiment, released in 2018. In August of 2020, Brown released his ACM-nominated EP, Mixtape Vol. 1, which included several hit singles such as “Cool Again,” “Worldwide Beautiful” “Worship You” and his Top 40 radio single, “Be Like That” featuring Khalid and Swae Lee.

Kane will embark on the Drunk or Dreaming Tour this month, a massive international tour that kicks off on September 17 in Melbourne, Australia and continues through Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK, and Europe. The trek will feature special guests Restless Road, Jessie James Decker, Blanco Brown and Chris Lane on select dates.

Kane also will bring the Drunk or Dreaming Tour to the United States in 2023 with Dustin Lynch, Gabby Barrett, and LOCASH, starting March 16, 2023, and going through June 10, 2023.
