The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) are upon us! The coveted awards show will take place at UBS Arena in New York on Wednesday evening (Sept. 11) at 8PM EST.

2024 MTV VMAs will feature a slew of performances from some of today’s biggest stars, including Eminem, Katy Perry, Halsey, GLORILLA, Lenny Kravitz, LL COOL J, Sabrina Carpenter, Shawn Mendes and more. Hosted by Megan Thee Stallion, the awards show will also feature several performances from the hottest rising stars such as Chappell Roan, Teddy Swims, Jessie Murph and more.

Addison Rae, Miranda Lambert, Big Sean, DJ Khaled, Fat Joe, Paris Hilton, Tinashe and more will also be on hand to present during the awards ceremony in the Big Apple.

How To Watch The 2024 MTV VMAs

The 2024 VMAs are set to air live on Wednesday (Sept. 11) at 8 p.m. ET/PT from New York’s UBS Arena via MTV and all Paramount channels, including BET, CMT, CC, Logo, MTV2, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, Pop, TV Land, and VH1.

Additionally, the 2024 VMAs will be available to watch on-demand via Paramount+ on Thursday, September 12.

Host

Megan Thee Stallion, who is nominated for five VMAs this year, is set to host the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs). The award-winning rapper will also take a break from her hosting duties to deliver a show-stopping performance.

“I’m excited to change clothes 500 times. I’m excited to perform. I’m excited to see all the Hotties,” Megan Thee Stallion told PEOPLE, previewing what fans can expect this evening. “I love New York, I can’t wait to be there again and eat all the food, and I’m excited for people to see what I bring to the table while hosting.”

Video Vanguard Award Recipient

Katy Perry, who won Video Of The Year for “Firework” in 2011 and served as the host of the VMAs in 2017, will be honored with the coveted Video Vanguard Award. The chart-topping singer will also perform a career-spanning medley of her biggest hits and new songs during the show.

Perry is the first person in VMA history to host, win Video of the Year, and receive the Vanguard Award – completing the MTV trifecta.

Nominees

Taylor Swift leads the pack with 12 nominations, including Video Of The Year, Song of The Year, Best Collaboration, Song Of Summer, Best Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Visual Effects, Best Art Direction for “Fortnight” with Post Malone, as well as VMAs Most Iconic Performance (“You Belong With Me”), Best Pop and Artist of The Year.

Post Malone follows Swift with 9 nods. Ariana Grande, Eminem and Sabrina Carpenter scored 6 nominations. Megan Thee Stallion and SZA earned 5 nods. LISA, Olivia Rodrigo and Teddy Swims follow closely behind with 4 nominations.

Benson Boone, Chappell Roan, Coco Jones, Gracie Abrams, Jelly Roll, Jessie Murph, LE SSERAFIM, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, RAYE, Teddy Swims, Sexyy Red, Shaboozey, Tyla, Tyler Childers, Victoria Monét & more are also nominated as first-time nominees.

Red Carpet And Pre-Show Concert

Ahead of the 2024 VMAs, the awards show will host a 90-minute pre-show event that will feature red carpet footage in addition to a special performance. Co-hosted by Nessa, Dometi Pongo, and Kevan Kenney, the pre-show will feature a performance by LE SSERAFIM.
