Thomas Rhett shared a song that he thought all parents could relate to called “Years Are Short” on Thursday evening (Dec. 16).

“Thought a parent could use this today haha #yearsareshort,” Rhett captioned the post on Instagram, which finds the hitmaker singing about parenthood and how fast children grow up.

“It’s 5 AM and I’m tugging on the covers. You and me baby looking at each other like, whose turn is it this time? I guess it’s mine,” Rhett sings in the clip. “One needs a bottle, one needs a diaper, it’s a full-time job ain’t no 9 to 5er. Running on coffee and fumes, tornado in the living room. Days are long, go on and on, before you know it they’re up and gone. So tough it on out, let it all sink in, ’cause these times ain’t never coming back again.”

In the 2-minute video, the “Country Again” singer sang the unreleased tune while one of his daughters tried to get his attention.

Watch Rhett’s performance of the unreleased song that most, if not all, parents can relate to.

Throughout the song, the Georgia native sang about he and his wife Lauren Akins life before they had children, “It used to be us in our own little world, now we got four little girls.” As the song continued, Rhett sang how their life changed with the addition of four kids, “so much for just dancing in the kitchen, One needs a nap, and the other needs attention.”

“Year Are Short” concluded with the realization that children grow up in the blink of an eye, “before you know it you’ll be handing them the keys to a Honda Accord. The days are long, but the years are short.”

Fellow country stars Cole Swindell and Parker McCollum commented on the post praising the tune.

“Can’t even relate and it’s still phenomenal! What an idea,” Swindell commented, while McCollum added, “heat.”

Rhett and his wife Lauren share four daughters, Willa Gray, 6, Ada James, 3, and Lennon Love, 1, and Lillie Carolina, 1 month.

The couple welcomed their fourth child, Lillie Carolina Akins, on Monday, November 15, making her debut weighing in at 7 lbs., 5 oz. Late Wednesday evening (Nov. 17), Rhett took to Instagram to introduce their newest bundle of joy.

“Lillie Carolina Akins 😍 born November 15th. 7.5 pounds of pure joy🙌 @laur_akins you are my hero,” he wrote. “Watching a child being born is legit a miracle. 4 under 6 here we go!”
