Miranda Lambert halted her heartfelt performance of “Tin Man” at the Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday evening (July 15) as she took a moment to call out a couple of girls in the audience.
During her emotional performance of the poignant tune, the country superstar stopped the show to address a couple of girls in the audience, who she noticed were more focused on taking selfies than truly engaging with her concert and being present in the moment.
It upset Lambert so much so that she had to interrupt the show to get their attention back onto the stage, where she stood in the spotlight singing the heart-wrenching track.
“I’m gonna stop right here for a second, I’m sorry,” Lambert said, asking her pianist to stop playing the tune. She then told the audience, “these girls [up here] are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song. It’s pissing me off a little bit. Sorry, I don’t like it. At all. We’re here to hear some country music tonight. I’m singing some country damn music.”
Lambert asked the crowd, “Shall we start again?” before restarting her performance of “Tin Man.”
She then went on to finish out her performance of the tune.
Velvet Rodeo The Las Vegas Residency
Miranda Lambert is currently celebrating nearly two decades as a country music superstar with a career-spanning set list in Sin City with her Velvet Rodeo Las Vegas Residency at Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood, formerly known as Zappos Theater.
The 39-year-old hitmaker recently shared that she has been enjoying her time in Las Vegas as it’s giving her a break from the grueling day-to-day tour life.
“After twenty years of touring, it gets exhausting sometimes. That is one reason I’m so thankful for the Velvet Rodeo shows,” she previously told Garden & Gun. “It is a break from the road, but I still get to do what I love and connect with the fans. This show was so fun to put together because we can bring in some production elements [like pyrotechnics] we haven’t ever had on the road. I won’t be touring much while I’m doing the residency except for a few festivals here and there, so y’all gotta come to Sin City!”
Lambert’s show is a 90-minute celebration of her artistry that features tunes from her entire discography from her debut album, Kerosene, to her current project, Palomino.
The “If I Was A Cowboy” singer’s residency kicked off on September 23, 2022, and is currently set to run through December of this year.

New Song “If You Were Mine” Featuring Leon Bridges
In addition to her Las Vegas residency, the 14-time CMA Award winner recently released “If You Were Mine,” a duet with fellow Texas native Leon Bridges.
Released via Lambert’s own Vanner Records with distribution by IMPERIAL, the song combines Lambert’s signature country vocals with Bridges’ beloved R&B style, making for a must-hear genre-bending collaboration. Co-written by Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Jesse Frasure, the song’s tender lyrics play out like a promise to a lover as Lambert and Bridges croon over the possibility of what could be.
“I’d make sure your stars are shining/ Sure as the Frio’s winding/ I’d bottle you up like lightning/ I’d rope the moon for you/ A million times/ That’s what I’d do/ If you were mine,” they sing.
“If You Were Mine” marks the country hitmaker’s first release as a “free agent” following her departure from her longtime label home, Sony Music Nashville.
The song follows the release of Lambert’s latest album, Palomino, which dropped in April of 2022 and spawned hits like “Actin’ Up,” “Strange,” and “If I Was A Cowboy.”
Additionally, Miranda Lambert recently released her first-ever cookbook, Y’ALL EAT YET? Welcome to The Pretty B*tchin’ Kitchen, which arrived on April 25. Upon release, the book landed at No. 1 on the How-To, Advice & Miscellaneous Books list, making Lambert a New York Times Best Selling Author.
