Blake Shelton teamed up with Lauren Alaina to partake in the viral “Thicc As Thieves” dance trend on Saturday (June 17) while backstage at Barefoot Country Music Fest. Now, Luke Bryan is continuing their friendly feud by poking fun at Shelton’s dance moves.
Shelton shared a video to his Instagram, which features Alaina teaching him how to do the “Thicc As Thieves” dance. In the clip, the pair is seen working on the moves while on Shelton’s tour bus. Shelton attempts to give the dance his all, but falls short, resulting in a comical moment. As Alaina watching on, she can’t help but to laugh at Shelton’s hilarious antics.
“Can’t believe I got talked into this @laurenalaina… Congrats on the new song buddy!!!! Y’all go listen!!!!” Shelton wrote on Instagram.
Luke Bryan Roasts Blake Shelton’s Dance Moves
Luke Bryan was quick to weigh in on his dance moves, taking to the comments section of Shelton’s post.
“I didn’t think anything could be worse than your singing until now,” Bryan commented.

Alaina revealed how she convinced Shelton to take part in the dance with a post on her Instagram.
“Me: Hey Blake, will you do my Thicc As Thieves dance with me??? Blake: No 😂 Me: Sure be cool if you did…..”
Kane Brown Also Participated In The Dance With Lauren Alaina
Lauren Alaina also attempted to teach her “middle school buddy,” Kane Brown, to do the infamous “Thicc As Thieves” dance.
“Speaking of #thiccasthieves… This guy has had my back since we were kids. I can’t believe I got him to do this 🍑 Love you, @kanebrown!” Alaina wrote.
The “Thicc As Thieves” dance trend began on June 10 when Lauren Alaina and Lainey Wilson took to social media to show off their best dance moves to the track.
“Grab your #thicc bestie and do the Thicc As Thieves dance 🍑 Tag us in your videos so we can see ya shakin’ it with us!!” Alaina shared.
“Us girls gotta thicc together ❤️,” Wilson added.
“Thicc As Thieves” Features A Snippet Of Luke Bryan’s “Country Girl (Shake It For Me)”
In the video, the female country stars/longtime friends kicked up their boots, showed off some shimmies and owned their curves. The trending moves were perfectly choreographed to match the point in the song that finds Wilson and Alaina paying tribute to Luke Bryan’s signature track, “Country Girl (Shake it For Me).”

Luke Bryan Was “Very Flattered” To Be Included
During a recent interview with Taste of Country, Luke Bryan reacted to Alaina and Wilson including a snippet of “Country Girl (Shake it For Me)” in their new “Thicc As Thieves” collaboration.
“I love it. I was very flattered,” Bryan told the outlet. “When you look at Lainey… I mean, I think Lainey is just so great for country music. And I’ve been a fan of Lauren Alaina. She has one of the best voices in the world.”
Fans took to the comment section to praise the country singers on their catchy new tune and hip-swaying dance moves. One user even predicted that this will become the “next viral TikTok dance.”
Bryan also made himself known in the comments as he wrote, “Let’s go” in support of Wilson and Alaina. The American Idol judge and “Georgia boy” is credited as a songwriter on “Thicc As Thieves,” alongside Lauren Alaina, Rocky Block, Dallas Davidson, Jacob Durrett, and Parker Welling.
Wilson and Alaina recently debuted their new duet live on Nashville’s Riverfront Stage during this year’s CMA Fest on Thursday, June 8.
Lauren Alaina’s New EP, Unlocked
“Thicc As Thieves” appears on Alaina’s brand-new EP, Unlocked, which dropped Friday, June 9. This six-song collection marks her first release since signing to Big Loud Records.
“I’ve got a label that matches my personality — big, loud, and country,” Alaina told Billboard of her label switch. “I just really believe in the music that comes out of that building. I think that they are producing the best music in Nashville.”
Additionally, this summer, Lauren Alaina is slated to hit the road for a slew of performances at various fairs and festivals before she joins the North American leg of Pentatonix’s World Tour.
