It’s no secret that Scotty McCreery is a family man. The country music artist and Season 10 American Idol champ has kept fans engaged on social media, documenting many of his outings and special occasions with his wife, Gabi, and son, Avery.
This year is extra special because McCreery will not only celebrate his milestone 30th birthday, but he and his baby boy also share a birthday month. After McCreery marks another year older on Monday (Oct. 9), Avery, who came into the world on Oct. 24, 2022, will celebrate his 1st birthday just a few weeks later.
Scotty McCreery’s 30th Birthday
As it turns out, McCreery has already been busy laying out all the details for both upcoming occasions. In a recent interview with Music Mayhem, the “Cab In A Solo” crooner revealed the birthday plans that he has in store for when the big days arrive.
“For my birthday this year, we’re going up to the mountains with my buddies,” McCreery said, adding that. “We always do a golf tournament twice a year. So this year will be on my birthday weekend.”
McCreery didn’t indicate which mountains he would be heading to. But based on his history, it’s likely he’ll be spending time in his home state of North Carolina, where he has participated in several golf tournaments and outdoor activities in the past.
Son Avery’s First Birthday Celebration Will Be Toy Story Themed
As for Avery, his festivities will be a little different than his famous father’s. McCreery has planned somewhat of a Disney affair with a Toy Story theme and plenty of guests to be included on the list.
“For Avery’s birthday, we’re having a Toy Story-themed party. So I have a feeling I’ll be dressing up as Woody, and there will be plenty of other characters around,” McCreery beamed. “So we’re excited about that.”
With Avery’s birthday falling just days ahead of Halloween, the McCreerys won’t have to think too hard on their costumes for the spooky occasion.
McCreery says, “I think the Toy Story party will be right around that time, so that might be our Halloween this year.”
“Then we might just be handing out candy with Avery as a little pumpkin or something on the 31st,” he continues. “But Toy Story is going to be our big costume theme this year.”
To Be Inducted Into North Carolina Hall of Fame
Birthdays aside, McCreery has even more celebrations to look forward to as he is set to be inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame. McCreery will round out the 2023 class of inductees alongside five others, including Betty Davis, Bill “Fatback” Curtis, Fetchin Bones, George Beverly Shea, and Loudon Wainwright III.
The special event is scheduled to take place at the Mooresville Performing Arts Center in Mooresville, NC, on Thursday, October 19 and finds McCreery joining the ranks of artists like Eric Church, Kellie Pickler, Charlie Daniels, and so many others.
Of his honor, McCreery said, “[It’s] pretty incredible. I’ve always just loved a lot of the music that has come out of North Carolina…. Randy Travis and Ronnie Milsap, Charlie Daniels, even Andy Griffith are in the Hall of Fame there, so just to be mentioned among them is such great company and such an honor for me.”
“If you follow me, you know how much I love North Carolina,” he added. “If you listen to my records, there’s always a song about North Carolina on there. I still make my home there. So, it’s a very special honor for me. We’re going to have all of our family and friends there that night.”
