Scotty McCreery temporarily halted production of his concert on Saturday evening (Aug. 24) at the Colorado State Fair to kick out a male fan who he witnessed hit a female in the audience.

Scotty McCreery Stopped Colorado State Fair Concert To Address Fight In Crowd

The country superstar was in the midst of performing “It Matters To Her” at the Big R Arena in Pueblo, Colorado, when he noticed a fight breaking out in the crowd and called on the local security and police to assist.

The incident happened during the first song of his set. As McCreery sang, “When you say I love you/ Before you hang up…,” he abruptly stopped and called out for help, “Hey, Hey, Hey, right here… that’s a lady you just hit, sir.”

He pointed out the guy in the crowd to the security to have him removed from the venue. “Absolutely not, who just hit the lady. Police/Security… Is she okay? Get the heck out of here. Oh, he’s ducking to get out. On God’s green Earth at a Scotty McCreery show? What are you doing?” McCreery questioned. He then asked security to make sure that the lady was okay.

As police made their way through the crowd to remove the unruly fan, he urged the audience to “let the cop know who hit the lady,” so the individual could be escorted off the premises. “That’s absolutely unacceptable. Whoever you are, that’s the definition of a coward hitting a lady. Get the heck out of here, buddy,” McCreery stated.

The 30-year-old singer/songwriter then continued on with the show after the disruptive fan was removed. “Well, if we’re all set, let’s get on back to the show,” McCreery added before signaling his band to go on with the show.

According to Channel 69News Pueblo Colorado, “the guy was taken out in cuffs and hauled away by Patrol Units and passed off to PPD and the Sheriffs.”

Fans Praised McCreery A “Class Act”
