Reba McEntire is setting the record straight after false news about her has been circulating online. On Sunday afternoon (Feb. 25), the country music icon took to social media to address the rumors and squash speculation.
Reba Shut Down Rumors Circulating Online
A fake website by the name of emperorsland.pro used a “clickbait” headline that said, “Reba McEntire Confirms She Is ‘Leaving’ The Voice After Her Accidental ‘Live’ Confession On-Air.” McEntire shared a screenshot of the story with the word “FALSE” written across the fake news article in a bold red font.
“Please do not click on any articles that say I am leaving The Voice. This is not true,” McEntire wrote in the captioned of the post.
That was the first rumor that she shut down. Other websites claimed that Reba McEntire was advocating and selling weight loss gummies, which is also not true.
“These are fake websites to lure people in with clickbait where they claim I have a company to sell weight loss gummy products. This is false. I do not sell or promote any type of gummy product,” she continued. “This is false. I do not sell or promote any type of gummy product. Please report these posts if you see them on Facebook or Instagram.”
Reba Is Returning To The Voice Despite False Rumors
Despite speculation and false rumors, Reba McEntire is returning to her big red chair on NBC’s The Voice for Season 25 this evening (Feb. 26), marking her second consecutive season as a coach on the popular singing competition show.
McEntire took home second place during her inaugural season on The Voice in 2023 with Team Reba’s Jordan Rainer.
Epic Performance To Kick Off Season 25 Of The Voice
McEntire recently joined fellow The Voice coaches Dan + Shay, John Legend and Chance The Rapper for an epic performance to kick off the 25th season of the Emmy Award-winning show.
The performance marked the official first look at the new panel of coaches, with John Legend making his return to the show and Reba McEntire coming back for a second season. Meanwhile, Chance The Rapper and Dan + Shay replace Gwen Stefani and Niall Horan, who left the show after Season 24.
The star-studded group of The Voice coaches united for a soulful rendition of Jackie DeShannon’s 1969 classic hit, “Put a Little Love in Your Heart.” The performance kicked off as Chance The Rapper and Reba McEntire sang the opening verse, before Dan + Shay and John Legend joined in moments later.
Donning all white ensembles and joined by a choir, the all-star group of coaches took viewers to church while trading verses throughout their performance.
“And the world will be a better place/ And the world will be a better place/ For you and me/ You just wait and see,” the quartet sang on the tune’s chorus before making their way to the second verse, “Another day goes by/ And still the children cry/ Put a little love in your heart/ You want the world to know/ We won’t let hatred grow/ Put a little love in your heart.”
Reba Reacts To Dan + Shay Joining The Show As First Time Coaches
This season marks Dan + Shay’s first time coaching on The Voice, and also the first-ever time that there will be a double-chair on set and a duo coaching on the show.
“I was thrilled when they told me Dan + Shay were going to be on the show, and of course we had to have a love seat for them instead of just one, and they’re great. They’re so good at their notes,” Reba previously shared with us of Dan + Shay, composed of Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney.
She continued, “Dan, being a producer, writer, knows music inside and out. Shay’s such a wonderful singer, and he’s got that knack of sharing his expertise, but also experience of how he got to where he is today, so they’re great coaches, and I just love hanging out with them. I’ve loved being around them and their family, and to do it now on The Voice is like icing on the cake.”
The Voice Allows Fans To See A Different Side Of Reba McEntire
While Reba McEntire has been a force to be reckoned with in the music industry since the 1970s, The Voice is showing viewers a new side to her that has yet to be put on display.
“It is a different part of me coming out, because it’s non scripted. It is ‘You be you. You just go have fun,’ which I like to do that,” she previously told us with a smile. “…They come up with some of the funniest skits for us to get to do, so it just brought out my personality that a lot of people haven’t seen.”
“If you see a concert, you’ll see a little bit of it. It’s just me being me,” the Oklahoma native concluded.
Season 25 of The Voice will kick off on Monday, February 26 at 8/7c on NBC. The show will also be available the next day to stream on Peacock.
