RaeLynn has come a long way from auditioning and making it to the live quarterfinals on Season 2 of NBC’s The Voice. But, she still holds onto the relationships she made while competing on the popular reality TV competition series.

Met Jason Aldean When She Was 18 Years Old

Looking back, RaeLynn recalls one person in country music who had her back from the get-go — Jason Aldean.

“I mean, I’ll never forget the first time I met him at 18 years old,” the 29-year-old Texas native explained in an interview with Music Mayhem. “I was backstage with Blake [Shelton], and everybody [else], and we were hanging out. [Jason] was just so respectful to me. He told me he heard me singing his song, and I will never forget that.”

During her time on The Voice, in which she was the youngest contender, RaeLynn covered Aldean’s hit “She’s Country” from his 2009 album, Wide Open. She earned rave reviews on her performance from then-coaches Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, and CeeLo Green. And while she made friendships with all judges, her buddy-buddy relationship with Aldean not only lasted but made a huge impact on her reasons to continue to pursue country music.

“It was one of my first interactions, and to be treated with such love and respect at such a young age, it gave me an excitement to be an artist in country music,” RaeLynn said of her first exchange with Aldean, adding. “But now to see our friendship has flourished, it’s pretty cool.”

Recently Celebrated Her 29th Birthday With Brittany Aldean And Friends

As with Aldean, RaeLynn has become besties with the “Try That In A Small Town” singer’s wife, Brittany Aldean. Earlier this year, the pair spent time together as part of RaeLynn’s 29th Birthday. Katelyn Brown, Summer Pardi, and Caleigh Ryan Hardy were among some of the other attendees at the party, which took place on a rooftop.

“After 10 years in this town, I can say it truly takes time to find your crew, but when you do, it’s the greatest gift you should always cherish,” RaeLynn wrote on Instagram, at the time, sharing a round of snapshots from the bday extravaganza. “The older I get, the more grateful I am for these beautiful women. Through life’s ups and downs, career craziness, and raising babies. They have all been there for me. Thank you, @brittanyaldean for always going above and beyond to make the people you love feel special. I’m already thanking Jesus for the amazing year 29 is gonna be. 💚”

“They’re Unapologetically Themselves”

“I’ve known Brit for a really long time since [she and Jason have] been married,” RaeLynn shared, reflecting on their closeness. “…. Brit is Mrs. Party Planner. She is so sweet. She threw me a birthday party. She’s like, ‘What are we doing for your birthday?’ I’m like, ‘Girl. I don’t know. Probably just going to lunch.’ She’s like, ‘Can I throw you a party?’ I’m like, ‘OK.’”

“She does always think about everybody else, and it’s just a testament to who she is,” she continued. “…“Brittany and Jason…. They’re unapologetically themselves but also good people. They are as good as it gets. We’ve done so many fun things together. [They] are some of the most real people you’ll ever meet in the industry. One thing I do love about country music is everybody is pretty much a normal person. Very rarely will you find any egos here. There’s a few, but for the most part, everybody is super respectful of each other and loves each other.”
