Morgan Wallen returned to the studio and is working on new music!
The country superstar alerted fans via text on Thursday (Sept. 16) that he has returned to the studio and is working on some new tunes.
“Cookin’ up some new music,” Wallen wrote in a text alongside a selfie, wearing an orange t-shirt, at a microphone.
This teaser marks the second time Wallen has hinted at new music, as in late July, the chart-topping hitmaker shared an unreleased new song called “You Proof,” with the caption, “been waiting to put out new music.”
In addition to this text message, Wallen has been seen several times in the studio with his good friends and longtime collaborators Ernest & Hardy. In fact, recently he performed a new song called “Flower Shops” which is expected to be released as either a solo song for ERNEST or an ERNEST and Morgan Wallen duet.
Wallen has also teased fans over the course of the last few months with several new unreleased tracks that could appear on a new project, including “Boy Out The Country,” a tribute to his mother Lesli “Thought You Should Know,” the fan-favorite “You Proof,” “Drink U Back” amongst others that have been teased previously.

The news comes just eight months after the East Tennessee native and “Sand In My Boots” singer released his record-breaking double album, Dangerous.
Additionally, Wallen recently took home two awards at the 2021 Nashville Songwriters Awards presented by NSAI in the highly-coveted ’10 Songs I Wish I’d Written’ category, a category that is voted on by Professional Songwriter members of NSA and one that NSAI Chief Operations Officer Jennifer Turnbow said is “the award that means the most to them because it represents pure validation.”
According to Music Row, “songs eligible for the aforementioned award must have a Nashville connection and charted in the Top 20 of the Billboard Airplay chart in the Christian, country, mainstream top 40, and/or rock genres during the eligible period.”
“The top 10 vote getters take home the prestigious title,” Turnbow added.
Wallen earned two winning spots in the category as his songs “7 Summers” and “Chasin’ You” both made the Top 10 list.
