Morgan Wallen shared a demo of a rowdy new unreleased country song.
On Saturday, June 5, the country superstar shared a clip of an unreleased demo in his Instagram stories while driving home from North Carolina with his friend Andrew Green. Throughout the banjo-infused track, Wallen pays tribute to the country lifestyle by detailing everything that makes him a “country boy.”
“Long drive going thru old demos… this one kinda got me fired up,” the East Tennessee native captioned the unreleased demo song.
“Burn a few down on the back porch / a lot of shift gears in my dashboard / can’t get it on my own, won’t ask for it / make it happen with my own two hands / yeah, I like my boots a little swampy / yeah, I like my bass a little funky / yeah, I like my girls a little country / yeah it’s just the way I am / I ain’t ashamed of how I was raised / and I don’t see no need to change / you can take the boy out of the country / take the beer out of his hand / you can spend all kind of money / to sophisticated man / you can take him out his blue jeans / throw away his camo hat / but you know you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, it’s just as simple as that / you can take the boy out of the country / you can take the boy out of the country / you can take the boy out of the country but that country’s still in your boy / still in your boy,” Wallen sings in the clip shared to his Instagram stories.
