Miranda Lambert made a surprise appearance at her Lower Broadway bar, Casa Rosa, in Nashville on Sunday evening (Apr. 4).
The country superstar and Texas native shocked patrons at Casa Rosa Nashville when she appeared on the rooftop stage to perform “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” alongside her longtime bandmate Gwen Sebastian and the infamous Nashville Cover Band.
Lambert, donning a hat and a striped duster cardigan, performed the GRAMMY-nominated track for the rowdy, near capacity crowd.
Lambert, who was nominated for two coveted GRAMMY Awards, skipped the 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards, stating that she was too “slammed this month, with the record coming out and everything” to attend the ceremony in Las Vegas at MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Lambert was nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” with Elle King, and Best Country Album for The Marfa Tapes, a collaborative project she released in May 2021 with Jon Randall and Jack Ingram. However, the “If I Was A Cowboy” singer did not end up winning the awards.
The country hitmaker is currently preparing for the April 29 release of her new album, Palomino, and her upcoming The Bandwagon Tour with Little Big Town.
Miranda Lambert’s much-anticipated new album, Palomino, arrives on Friday, April 29. The project includes 15 tracks and “explores the world and the people in it, seeking beauty and adventure all around.”
Palomino follows Lambert’s GRAMMY-winning album, Wildcard, and her two collaborative projects, The Marfa Tapes, and Pistol Annie’s Christmas album, Hell Of A Holiday.
The reigning ACM Entertainer Of The Year recently shared that she is heading to Sin City for her new Las Vegas residency called Velvet Rodeo: The Residency.
Launching this fall, in September 2022, the residency will take place at Zappos Theater inside Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
“When you’ve been touring as long as I have, there’s something really creative about imagining a residency in a city like Las Vegas,” Lambert shared. “I’ve had a lot of fun designing our sets, merchandise and clothing and boot lines – and even my place on Broadway in Nashville, Casa Rosa – so, this opportunity allows me to lean in a bit more into that side of myself and think about how to really bring country music to life in this room. I think everyone will like what we’ve dreamed up. I’m really excited about this!”
Velvet Rodeo: The Residency will give fans an up close and personal opportunity to experience live performances of the numerous chart-topping songs and beloved album cuts from Lambert’s seven No. 1 albums as well as her forthcoming project.
Velvet Rodeo is set to kick off on September 23 and run through April 2023.
Tickets for Lambert’s Velvet Rodeo Residency in Vegas go on sale to the public on April 7.
