Miranda Lambert returned to Las Vegas for her Velvet Rodeo Residency at Bakkt Theater on Friday evening (March 22) and at the show the country superstar played a special role in revealing the gender of her longtime friend’s baby during the show.

Luckily, a member of Lambert’s team documented the memorable moment and shared it on her social media platforms for fans to see.

Lambert Unveils Baby Gender For Her Longtime Friend In Vegas

“We had a velvet rodeo first last night, y’all! A gender reveal for Cameron & Danny’s tour baby,” Lambert captioned the clip.

As the melody for “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” played in the background, Lambert explained to the crowd that she was about to unveil the gender of her longtime friend and personal assistant’s baby. “My bestie/personal assistant of almost a decade is sitting right there,” Lambert said, pointing out Cameron [Ruthm] Mitchell in the crowd.

“She’s pregnant! And her baby daddy is right here… We hope!” the country hitmaker added while gesturing towards her keyboardist, Danny Mitchell.

“We’ve been waiting for like a long time to reveal the gender at this show to a song called ‘Drunk’ because that’s on brand for our white trash asses,” she continued with a laugh.

Pink Confetti Revealed That “It’s A Baby Girl”

Lambert then went on to detail that the baby’s gender would be revealed at the end of their performance of “Drunk.”

“So, at the end of this song, the confetti that comes out of the sky is going to be blue, or it’s going to be pink,” Lambert prefaced before going into her energy-filled performance of “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home),” sans her duet partner Elle King, who originally features on the track.

As the beat dropped, pink confetti exploded out of the confetti cannons and fluttered down onto the crowd, which included her friend, who was overcome with joy and crying happy tears.

“It’s a baby girl, y’all!” Lambert shouted as pink confetti showered the crowd.

She Also Shocked Fans With A Surprise Guest At The Show

In addition to hosting a gender reveal, Miranda Lambert also brought out a surprise guest during the show: Natalie Hemby. Hemby, a popular songwriter and one of Lambert’s best friends, joined her on stage for a performance of “Bluebird,” a song produced by Jay Joyce that the pair co-wrote together alongside Luke Dick.

“One of my best friends in the world was in Vegas last night. @nataliehemby. I’ve known her since I was 19. We wrote our first #1 song together (“White Liar”). We have gotten to celebrate a lot of milestones together personally & professionally since then, including writing this song together 💙🐦,” Lambert wrote on Instagram, also sharing a clip of their performance.
