It’s already a massive night for Miley Cyrus, accepting her first ever GRAMMY Award for Best Pop Solo Performance for “Flowers,” prior to putting on a spectacular performance of the smash hit onstage at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Wins First-Ever GRAMMY Award

At the 2024 GRAMMY Awards, Cyrus found herself starstruck as the iconic Mariah Carey announced her win, gushing that “This MC is gonna stand by this MC” while she accepted her award, because the duo is “just too iconic.” She then proceeded to share an extremely personal story that left the star-studded crowd — consisting of artists like Jelly Roll, Peso Pluma, Olivia Rodrigo, and more — tearing up, all while standing alongside Carey herself.

“There was a little boy that all he wanted for his birthday was a butterfly, and so his parents gave him a butterfly net, and he was so excited. He just went outside, out in the sun, and started swinging and swinging, but with no luck. He sat down on the ground, he finally let go, and he surrendered… He was okay that he wasn’t gonna capture this beautiful butterfly, and right when he did is when the butterfly came and landed right on the tip of his nose,” she shared with a smile.

Cyrus concluded, “This song ‘Flowers’ is my butterfly. Thank you,” garnering a roar of applause.

Television Debut Of “Flowers”

Shortly after, the former Disney Channel star took the stage for a second time to deliver a bombastic performance of the track, marking the first time that it has ever been performed on television. This performance of “Flowers” featured Cyrus in a bedazzled silver outfit, where she took on some stellar choreography and lyric changes, even shouting “Why are y’all acting like y’all don’t know this song?” after a presumed lack of energy from the attendees at the Crypto.com Arena.

Concluding with a dramatic mic drop and a sexy strut off the stage, this was not the only moment from Miley Cyrus at the 2024 GRAMMY Awards that had viewers from across the globe talking.

Later in the show, Miley Cyrus also took home the award for Record Of The Year (“Flowers”).

Stunned On The Red Carpet

The talented singer/songwriter’s red carpet look was equally as exceptional, marking her first red carpet appearance in 10 months. She stepped out in a stunning gold ensemble that left little to the imagination — designed by John Galliano for Maison Margiela — which featured a metal mesh dress with safety pin accents, as well as matching panties and heels. To accompany the outfit, Cyrus rocked some oh-so voluminous curls and a bronzed, metallic makeup look, all while leaving her tattoos on full display.

While posing for the cameras, Cyrus was all smiles, likely due to the fact that she was nominated for six awards this evening — Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance for “Flowers,” Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for Endless Summer Vacation, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Thousand Miles” with Brandi Carlile — bringing her total number of GRAMMY Award nominations to eight.
