After Luke Combs was forced to cancel his performance for the upcoming CMT Music Awards due to his COVID-19 diagnosis, his wife Nicole Hocking Combs shared an update on his health.

On Saturday, March 26, Combs’ wife took to social media to answer fan submitted questions via her Instagram Stories. During the Q&A, the soon-to-be mother gave fans an update on Combs’ health when one fan asked, “How’s Luke doing with COVID? Are you healthy?”

“We are all happy and healthy and negative around here,” the soon-to-be mother shared.

She went on to say that the “Doin’ This” would have never known he had the novel coronavirus if he wasn’t tested for the awards show.

“Thank you all for checking in the last couple of days. I’ve seen a lot of messages,” Nicole added. “Yeah, he wouldn’t have known he had it, if it weren’t for getting tested for the [CMT Music Awards].”

Luke Combs Will No Longer Perform At The 2022 CMT Music Awards

Last week, a spokesperson for CMT confirmed to Music Mayhem that the country superstar and North Carolina native has COVID-19 and is currently quarantining and unable to make a scheduled taping for the awards show, which was set to take place on Thursday (Mar. 24).

“Unfortunately, Luke Combs won’t be with us tomorrow,” the statement read. “He is quarantined with COVID. He’s bummed to miss seeing everyone!”

Combs was originally scheduled to tape his CMT Music Awards show performance in advance of the show alongside Kane Brown.

According to an email from 1iota, a company fulfilling tickets for the performance, Old Dominion filled in for Combs.

“In Luke’s absence, Old Dominion will join Kane Brown for special musical performances for a TV taping,” the email to participants states.

Kelsea Ballerini, Kane Brown, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd, Cole Swindell and Lainey Wilson, Little Big Town, Carly Pearce, Keith Urban and more will perform during the three-hour CBS broadcast, which will air on Monday, April 11.  Additional performers and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks.

The country hitmaker is currently nominated for two awards at this year’s ceremony, including Video Of The Year (“Forever After All”) and Male Video Of The Year (“Forever After All”).

Combs recently returned home from a headlining run of shows at Country 2 Country (C2C) Festival in Europe.

The “Doin’ This” singer and his wife, Nicole Combs, are expecting their first child together later this Spring.

Combs Is Gearing Up To Release His Third Studio Album Later This Year

Additionally, Combs recently shared an update on his third studio album, which is slated to be released later this year.

In early March, a fan randomly tweeted Combs, asking him “How are those final touches on LC3 coming along, @lukecombs?” The country superstar couldn’t help but to reply and keep fans on the edge of the seats as they await the release of his highly-anticipated new project.

“We’re right at the finish line on em,” Combs said, before adding, “I’m real proud of these tunes. Can’t wait for y’all to hear em.”

A release date for the project has yet-to-be announced.
